Out of that list, I'm the least interested in Robina and Sinal.

Sinal, at least for the first few levels, looks like the character most likely to be 'like character X, but worse'. In this case, a similar sort of Divine Gish to Cillyss, except where QuadraticGish went Tier 3/Tier 1, Metastachydium went Tier 4/Tier 2.

(Of course, its not like your position on the tier list has that much of an effect on how fun a character is to play, but if you're in exactly the same party role as each other and the other character's better at it...)

That's part of the reason Balein ended up as an arcane/psionic double caster - Garth, Cillyss, and Baldric (whose player seemed like a front-runner around the time I was planning Balein) looked like a capable enough front line, and they all had partial or full divine casting... So I saw my best choices for an app as 'arcane, psionic, skillmonkey, pick 2'.

Robina... looks like she was built for a different game entirely. Between humans as the favored enemy choice and Beguiler as their arcane class, they seem to have set up for a game where we're spending a lot more time on RP and a lot less time fighting monsters in a dungeon. Sure, I know they're doing it for fluff reasons, but when you're submitting an app to a dungeon crawl, you kinda have to nail a party role first, RP second.

Tohan... mainly looks fine, but seems to have taken a flaw.

I have no issues with Codex or Kurt, and I can probably work fine in a party with Garrett. Yes, we've both got Wizard, but he's got three barred schools for me to cover (Illusion, Necromancy, and Evocation), specialises in a different school from Balein (Transmutation vs Conjuration), and is probably going to focus less on in-combat casting than me (I'm not that fussed if someone else wants to do the pre-battle buffs and let me save spell slots for combat...)
