Bees are usually perfectly friendly unless you go picking a fight with them.

I don;t think killing a single bee that wants to kill you endangers the survival of the species. There are 2 trillion or so bees in the world, so every person on earth would have to kill hundreds to wipe them out. If the bee does sting you it tends to die anyway, its just that you might die as well.

It's important to always carry an automatic weapon in case cows attack, and a big fly swat in case you see a bee.

While this is a fair point I also just don't think "immediately kill it" is ever the right option for... anything that isn't like, a virulent and invasive species. By all means slaughter every Lionfish you see, within the areas they are an invasive species in. But leave the bees alone.

I wouldn't recommend killing edible animals like fish unless you intend to eat them.

Lionfish are an extremely virulent and aggressive invasive species in the areas it is known to be invasive in that the wholesale mindless slaughter of them is a good deed as told by people who would otherwise rather take off their hand than hurt an animal. And Lionfish ARE incredibly delicious if you prepare them right and avoid all the deadly poisons, so rest assured you'll be eating the hell out of them too.

To my knowledge people killing bees isn't really the issue, rather it's overall changes in their environment (pollution, fewer available flowers etc.) brought about by humans that endanger them. I don't begrudge anyone with a bee allergy for wanting to clear them out and reacting to them with extreme prejudice, though. I mean, yeah sure, then it's you either kill the bee or it might kill you, but everybody else shouldn't be killing bees.

One person killing a single bee might be equivalent to making a single cut on a person, but a thousand people doing the same? The results become much worse.

Seriously, do not harm bees unless you have no other option (e.g. to save a life). Wasps, on the other hand...

What if an edible animal gets covered in oil due to a dangerously sober robot and they begin reproducing at horribly unsustainable rates?

Killing a thousand bees would barely make a dent in a single hive. You'd need a trillion cuts to endanger the species.

Oh hey look several species of honeybee are endangered. We must have hit that trillion mark a few years back.

No, because those species are not endangered because people have killed bees on sight because they are worried abotu being stung. It may be indirectly because of humans (habitat loss or the like), but that's not what anyone's been talking about.

    Edit

I see this site gives these reasons:
"This is due to many factors, including habitat loss, pesticides, climate change, and disease."

So my mother volunteered to watch my cousin's kid for a night. This was a unilateral decision on her part than noone else in the house got a say in, but whatever.

She hid her insulin pen so the kid couldn't mess with it and immediately he found it and started paying with it. I took it from him and put it up on a shelf where he couldn't reach it (mom knows where it is.)

(I took all of my meds into my bedroom where the kid couldn't get them before he even got here. Because I am responsible apparently.)

Oh, ok. So if I see, for example, a Vaquita, I can kill it without compunction because their endangered species is due to getting caught in fishing nets and not being individually killed. Correct?

I don't know what that animal is? Can you eat it? If so, I wouldn't recommend killing it unless you want going to eat it.

Most critically endangered animal in the world, last estimates were that there were only nine left. But hey, they weren't individually killed by humans, so that make sit OK, just like bees, right?

Or should we just let the bees be?

I thought you said they were individually killed by humans - in their nets?

Are they dangerous like bees? How many humans do they kill a year?

Or should we just let the bees be?
Or maybe just let them go extinct. There was a good solution to that in an episode of Black Mirror. They created autonomous drone insects which took care of pollination. The show cast them as negative because they killed a few people. But I now see the killed less people than actual bees do - so a perfect solution.

People do get killed in the construction industry. Were the wizards safer than cranes?

    Nets. Really big nets.

If you want to argue that is "individually by humans" then the bees also count, since things like "habitat loss" are also directly caused by humans.
