Iron Heroes: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Quite simply, my friend recently got Iron Heroes and wanted to play it. I am borrowing the books as we speak, but I would love to know the forumites' opinions on this. Is it breakable? What does it do well? etc
Thanks for your time.Last edited by BardicDuelist; 2007-11-24 at 09:44 AM.

Unfortunately, I have yet to play it, but when I first read all the little tidbits about it from the website, I was slavering over it. You've reminded me that I must buy that. Thanks.
Beguiler, you just got served.

The way I hear it, it's pretty good, but there are some balance problems that were solved by errata or something.
It is a joyful thing indeed to hold intimate converse with a man after one’s own heart, chatting without reserve about things of interest or the fleeting topics of the world; but such, alas, are few and far between.

It's a lot of fun, but the original caster class was pretty much unplayably crappy. I hear they fixed that.
Other than that, the Stunt mechanics are great, and the "pools" are interesting concepts, and the defense bonus eliminates AC magic dependency. If you're familiar with D&D it's pretty simple.
I liked it quite a bit.
