What a bad movie, easily the worst superhero movie since Dark Phoenix
It is by far the best Morbius movie to date, though.

Hope they sequel it. It can only get better.

Alternatively, it is also the worst one

I suspect it will end up a version of the Sinister Six but I can’t help but think Toomes’ intention is to start up a local version of the Avengers.
They still have to solve the Venom problem - namely, this one has no connection to any Peter. Bringing back Garfield's Peter won't solve that.

Having a Venom in both universes could allow them to do more multiversal shenanigans without needing a magic spell again however.

Animal blood is not mentioned, because Morbius already invented a way to create unlimited blood and won a Nobel for it.

I liked this much more than I thought I would. That doesn't mean much...but we have a theater that is very close by, very reasonably priced, with good "membership" perks.

My biggest beef is the adversary. So tired of...

Effects were fine. I liked the motion changes, even if I shouldn't have. Definitely have some plot questions, particularly related to the mid-credit scene, but that's typical.

Too bad he isn't in MCU. Could be an add for my Defenders wish fulfillment.

Honestly for me, the biggest issues were any characters other than Morbius himself. They have a villain who I don't feel is the least bit scary, though to be fair, you can slap all the CGI you want on Matt Smith and I don't think I'd find him intimidating at all. As for the cop characters, why even put them in the film if they aren't really going to do anything of note?

The mirror powers thing I also agree with, as it's only interesting if the villain shows that they can use them in some way the hero can't, or didn't think of. Riot in Venom at least made weapons with his powers, but by Venom 2, they didn't even give us a reason as to why Venom was so scared of "a red one"

That was the blue stuff though, and he specifically noted it was losing effectiveness.

Part of the issue is that if you do a different powerset on the bad guy, then generally speaking you have to explain where the new powers came from, and for origin stories specifically you already have to devote a large chunk of screen time to how the hero got their powers. You run the risk of turning it into a documentary if you squeeze in too much info. So having the hero and villain share an origin helps keep things concise, that’s why it’s common. Add to that we’re only three movies into the Sony ‘verse and they don’t have a lot of pre-established threats to drawn on.

Right except the synthetic blood was for use in treating humans with injuries, so he could have potentially subsisted on animal blood taken from live animals, as it might have satisfied his need to hunt.
