Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
Okay, since you got hauled under water and knocked off the coatul, now you need a CON saving throw, DC 13 to avoid inhaling a bunch of water.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
For those interested, we've started a pc-interactions thread over at Discord, to help facilitate easier conversation between PCs. There's also a rogue's gallery, and it would be great to have PC backstories there, as I keep having to hunt for them. It's not mandatory to be on discord; I just find it's helpful for quicker chatting.
There's also a dice roller there, which I'm hoping I'll struggle less with. But feel free to roll dice here or IC, whatever works for you.Last edited by agignac; 2022-06-22 at 05:00 PM.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
Don’t know if this has been discussed in discord but I see it all the time.
Bliksem climbs faster but is still exposed to the same difficulty checks anyone else would be.
Climb speed doesn’t negate that, it just moves you quicker than half speed.
Spider climb negates checks.

I'm off for the weekend, back on Monday. I was hoping to get one more post in before I left, but the day kicked my ass. Have a great weekend.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
According to the DMG it would be 100lb for a six person canoe, but I don't know if that is what we have here

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
This is a dugout canoe, and heavier - close to 350 lbs. The cliff is 150 feet, and the canoe is about 75% of the way up, so 112 feet down and 38 feet to the top.
I'll need a STR saving throw from TRH to hold the knot and keep it from slipping. DC 16
-BTW, while looking up stats on dugout canoes, I found this fact: In 1978, Geordie Tocher and two companions sailed a dugout canoe (the Orenda II), based on Haida designs (but with sails), from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to Hawaiʻi. The dugout was 40-foot (12 m) long, made of Douglas fir, and weighed 3.5-short-ton (3.2 t).Avatar by the amazing linklele

(1d20+1)[5] strength save
Let's see...
Well, that is slightly too little... I really should invest in that armor that let's me substitute int for strength on tests. (though that wouldn't have helped here either)Last edited by Pyrophilios; 2022-07-06 at 12:35 PM.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
It looks like Xarmus dove off the cliff without passing on the bird's warning. So you will not be prepared for the attack by the undead.
Xarmus - I will need more information from you. Describe exactly what he is trying to do, and make the associated roll (s).Avatar by the amazing linklele

Ooops, forgot to include it in the post. The spell Nolwenn cast is the Feather Fall Xarmus asked for.
Coach and Owner of Hellbug's Heroes, Sneak Kings, Sultans of Slaughter, and Commercial Cast-Offs. Season II and III runner-up. Season IV league champion. Season VII division champion.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
Well people were already readying actions to attack so I figured the message was passed on. What’s the perception checklist to notice undead shambling 60ft away?
I’m taking the three quarters of rope that has been pulled up, looping it around a tree, then featherfalling to the boat to tie it off.
Once the new second knot is tied, I’ll fix the first.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
Hey everyone,
Just letting you know, i think pbp isn't for me.
It sad to realize it now, the interactions with the other character was fun and was only going to get better and deeper, but i can't see it happen on a pbp game.
With that said, i'll be dropping out.
Might've been short but it was fun.
Thanks everyone and sorry

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
Sorry for the delay, I was trying to figure out what to do, losing two PCs in so short a time. There's no easy or reasonable way for them to leave the party voluntarily, so I'm afraid they're done for. It's not very satisfying, I know, but I don't want to play 2 extra NPCs, so I'm going railroad this fight for this turn.
The hex-crawl is new to me too, esp by pbp - I'm open to ideas, requests, comments etc if there's something that could increase people's fun.
@Red Horns - how many ykwla do you have? One flew off stuck inside a coatul.

Re: Chult Hex Crawl - OOC
The Yklwa has the returning property through my infusion. It's the same again and again ;)
As for dealing with player dropping out: Yepp, their chars are going to die. Which isn't as bad as it could be, since we are about to lose one of the canoes. Those are the jungles of Chult - drek happens.
