Percy Jackson Mafia 2
Three days after you set out to investigated the rumored Roman camp of halfbloods, the morning greats you with a fresh corpse.
Gac3 was a child of Hypnos. Each night choose one person. Nothing happens to that person because you decide to take a nap instead. Win Condition: Have the game end with everyone dead. Neutral Victory Status: Unknown.
Spoiler: Recruitment OPCamp Halfbood is in an uproar. They have recently received news that there may be another camp of halfbloods out there. This other camp apparently is made up of the children of the Roman gods. Unsure what this could even mean, a call is put out. Who will go to investigate this new camp and learn what is happening?

Be careful though, as another rumor says that the other camp already knows of us and is planning to infiltrate the group and interfere with the mission.
Spoiler: Rule BasicsThis game will work much the same as most mafia games on this forum. Some of the more subject questions are as follows:
Days are 48 hours. Nights are 24.
Ties are decided by a coin flip unless a role would influence it.
Day results will include a list of who voted for whom.
Discord will be used for night actions and sanctioned private communication, as I have a plan... There should only be one discord server, unlike some of the ones we have had.
There will be no private communication, unless a role would influence this.
Recruitment lasts for two weeks.
It is 3 a.m. when I finalized this a few weeks before I was expecting to start running it. There is a chance there are issues I did not manage to fully think through. If you have any feedback on teh set up, let me know. If I agree with feedback, there is a chance I will make adjustments between now and the start of the game.
Spoiler: RolesThe roles in this game will be much like that of the last Percy Jackson game I played. There will be the parents and each parent will have two options for the Camp Halfblood powers. Each player will be randomly assigned a parent/power. In addition, a change this time around. Last time wolves were at a disadvantage heavily. So this time I am trying to balance that a little with different powers and wolf passives. Each parent now has a third power. This power is passive and should not give any extra actions. ((If I messed this up, please inform me.)) When roles are being randomized, wolves (or Roman halfbloods) will receive one of the two options available to all players as well as the Roman passive.
Spoiler: Children of ZeusDivine Judge: Each night you may secure one player. Secured players can neither target, nor be targetted.
Divine Friendship: Each night choose one person. Any power that targets one of you, will target both of you.
Jupiter - Divine Leadership: As leader of your team, you are able to select the players on your team.
Spoiler: Children of PoseidonHealing Waters: Each night target one person and they will be immune to night kills. Cannot target the same person consecutively. (No feedback)
Ancient Ancestors: Each night you may hide behind another player as an animal. Actionss that target you will target them, but if one of you dies in the night, you both will.
Neptune - Big Influence: You may select which Roman powers your team is made up of.
Spoiler: Children of DemeterTwin: You know who the other child of Demeter is and begin with private communication.
Twin: You know who the other child of Demeter is and begin with private communication.
Ceres - Evil Twin: You are actually a child of Ceres.
Spoiler: Children of AresHard to Kill: The first time you would die, you instead don’t.
Deadly Bodyguard: You choose someone to target each night. If they would die, then you die instead, taking the attacker with you. Cannot target the same person consecutively.
Mars - Deadly Efficient: Every other night, if you perform the Roman kill, you cannot be blocked by healing waters.
Spoiler: Children of AthenaCombat Awareness: Each night target one person and learn their parent.
Trained in Tracking: Each night target one person and learn who they targeted.
Minerva - Forward Planner: You begin with knowledge of x number of roles not filled by town.
Spoiler: Children of ApolloProphecy: Each night target one person and learn their alignment.
Well Loved: You count as having one few vote on you for the purposes of determining if you are lynched.
Apollo - Unimaginative Father: You will always scry to any alignment/parent scry as Child of Apollo.
Spoiler: Children of HephaestusScanner: Any power used on you grants you a single charge of that power.
Fire: Each night choose one person to die.
Vulcan - Booster: Your Hephaestus power is stronger than normal.
Spoiler: Children of AphroditeCharmspeak: Each night choose one person. The following day, you privately pick who they vote for.
French Speaking: Once per game you may trigger a GM activated confirmation of your alignment and role.
Venus - Social Butterfly: Each night you receive knowledge of a random town role that is in play.
Spoiler: Children of HermesWatcher: Each night target one person and learn who targeted them.
Messenger: Each night choose one person to receive an anonymous message of your choice. (Some restrictions may apply, AV)
Mercury - Traveller: You cannot be targetted by night abilities.
Spoiler: Children of DIonysusDrunken Revelry: Each night choose one person to get drunk with. They will not be able to use any powers that night.
Drunken Madness: Each night choose one person and redirect their power to another person of your choice.
Bacchus - Party Animal: Anyone who targets you will believe they were a victim of drunken revelry.
Spoiler: Children of HadesCommune with Dead: You can see and speak in the dead chat.
Command the Dead: Each night, choose one dead role and activate their power. You may only use each power once.

We're like five minutes in and we already have an AV wagon? That's even faster than usual.
I'm going withXihirli, mainly because it seems likely that Jupiter/gac/fate would've made her a Roman after her outspoken anti-Roman attiude.Last edited by Batcathat; 2022-06-15 at 01:10 PM. Reason: Vote begone!

Taff's probably the child of a Norse god or something. (Twist! The Norse are just waiting for the Greeks and Romans to kill each other before taking over).

Lacking other clues to go on, I suspect I'll spend part of the day overanalyzing the note on gac's body.

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
We’ll see what colours townies flip in the future, I guess. Since this isn’t supposed to be a bastard game I figure gac is probably just using green for neutral and blue for town.
I’m not going to aim for gac to win but if I’m alive at endgame and it looks like a reasonable possibility I might consider it.
Although the idea of figuring out just the right combination of powers to kill everyone sounds fun. But we’d need the wolves’ cooperation, probably.I'm Chaotic Good! Ish!

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
So, in the interest of creating some discussion (so Snow doesn't need to do this and can study):
Book imagine you are a child of Neptune. Which 3 powers do you pick and why?
Elenna did you sleep well last night?
GA since I don't know you: give me a sentence which describes your approach to this kind of games. And as a bonus, ask me a question and I swear, I'll answer truthfully. I reserve the right to answer in a way which won't be helpfulSpoiler: I'm a seer

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
If I were a Roman, you'd know it, because you'd have a list of every filthy Roman we need to kill in my first post and we'd all be dead.
Let's talk about how dumb Rome is.
Latin. It's a bad language. I hate it.
Their NUMBERS! Sweet gods, their NUMBERS! To say 63 you gotta say LXIII. They don't have symbols for numbers you gotta put a bunch of letters together and do math to see how far you are from the nearest five. Luckily everyone in the formerly roman world saw that the arabs were doing it better and no one uses them anymore.
Rome never did anything inventive or interesting. Everything in Rome is just a watered down, less interesting version of something one of the peoples they conquered did. Case in point: their storytelling. This is really clear with Vergil's Aenead, which is just the Odyssey but more boring. This follows through with their gods, which are just the Greek gods but without all the personality.
Rome was so stupid that some of its cities literally illegalized their own fire departments.
And I have many other complaints that are not forum-safe!Spoiler: Check Out my Writing!

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
Just so you don't feel left out (and because I'm naturally suspicious of people trying to steer the conversation. And of people in general), you get one question in return: Why did you pick those three to prod with questions?
Also, if it turns out that you're both a wolf and being sincere with that bonus, remind me to congratulate you after the game for a cool (if unnecessarily risky for no reason) move.

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
Point of clarification: Were I a Roman, would I actually betray my team?
No, I wouldn't, that ruins the game for everyone. Hyperbolism carried me away with that post. You have absolutely no reason to trust that I am not a Roman I would have typed everything I just did no matter what side I was on.Spoiler: Check Out my Writing!

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
To be fair to the Romans, wasn't a least some of the fire departments basically a way to scam people out of their property? Which I guess isn't really a defense of Roman, now that I think about it.
And whatever you feel about the Latin language and the Roman numerals, that Latin alphabet is pretty handy. (Okay, so they did steal parts of it, I think, but still).

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
No, the Greek alphabet is handy. You know, where the name "alpha bet(a)" comes from? The Latin alphabet added in (or incorporated) redundancies (k and c and s and ph and f) and overcomplications. Every Greek letter starts with the sound it makes. Many latin letters, like C, H, G, and all the vowels make multiple sounds, often their most associated sound ("C says kuh, G says guh") do not appear in the letter at all. Now "O" makes the "ah" sound, E makes no sound, every French word ends in a silent X, nobody knows whether "h" counts as a consonant or not and I'm so angry!

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
Damit, I was that close to asking you how suspicious my post is, on a scale of 0 (locked town) to 10 (AV).
To answer you question: I've picked book because he is usually very quiet, GA cause I don't know him and Elenna cause 3 is a nice number.
I can't complain. Maybe a bit too long, but I didn't miss much, so it's okay.
I also wanted to set up a joke about you admiring gacs power, but it was a weak attemptSpoiler: I'm a seer

Re: Percy Jackson Mafia 2
Probably a solid 5 (yeah, I'm going straight for the middle of the road, what a shock, eh?). As you kind of mentioned yourself, it seems like more of a Snow move than one of yours, though I could see a towny you making it. I'm also aware that I think I tend to townread you too much, so deducting at least like one point to compensate for that.
