    Ah Pellan, ever the optimist.
I wonder how long that will last...

Also, don't go towards the light ominous green glow.
Not that you have much choice.

Yeah, even if we didn't know this was going to end badly, we'd know this was going to end badly.

Check this game out! Or at least give it a thumbs up.

(Flat Top continues to have the best lines. I should really stop voicing my first impressions of characters here; they are invariably wrong.)

Okay, if they know what that is they know not to touch it, right?
    They wouldn't be so foolish...
Sorry, can't say that one with a straight face.

Also, ominous sword* wielding shadow on the stairs.
    Yeah, this will end well.

*Or spear? Those guys** had famous spears before the queen wished them out of existence I think.
Anyway ominous armed shadow. Probably dangerous.

**The Kal-At Empire. That was what they're called.

That's totally the final boss (of this arc) isn't it.

I don't think this party is ready for a boss fight.
    Much less the final kind.

Well, we do know it's final, at the very least! I'm nots sure about the boss bit, though. That could be a creepy statue and the Cube could be the real boss.

On a more geology-adjacent note: I wonder what's with that Disturbed Soil of Doom flowing out from under the pedestal; and: whoever said Kryptonite, have a "good job" – it is a glowing green crystal, after all!

That's not a person standing on the stairs, that's a person sitting on a throne.

Between that and the box, I'm pretty sure we're looking at whatever's left of Queen Kyren herself.

    Queen of the Kal-At Empire.
Used the fancy box on the altar to wish for immortality and accidentally wiped out her people in the progress.
Pellan tells the story on page 70-72.

Edit 105-108 is Pellan talking about his team finding the vault- hilariously when they were send on a wild goose chase for the place as part of a hazing ritual. Not sure if that's great or terrible luck.
