(Also, is it just me, or standing at the midpoint of that bridge like that with a sword drawn really just screams "INITIATING CLIMACTIC DUEL; DO NOT DISTURB"?)

They're even an undead. And now with an ally that can blow any enemies off the bridge to their inevitable demise as it has no guard rails to speak of. It really does look like a Dark Souls setup.
Who designed this bridge anyway? It's both narrow and has nothing stopping someone from getting blown off of it not to mention the winds probably racing through the canyon it crosses.

Running was the smart thing to do. Probably not very honourable, definitely a bit disloyal, but smart.
Not that it really worked out for him.

The teammate being unhappy with Pellan is still very understandable though. I'd be too in his shoes.
