The Lords of Umadra: 'Masters of the Universe' PF/3.5 Planetary Adventure Setting
This is a development thread for a homebrew influenced by the following sources:
-He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
-Dinobots
-James Cameron's Avatar
-Ferngully: The Last Rainforest
-Horizon Zero Dawn
-Edward Rice Burroughs' The Venus Series
-Monte Cook's Numenera
-Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal
-Far Cry Primal
The setting utilizes the following homebrew and 3rd party materials:
*[PoC] Power of Cybernetics subsystem from the minmax forums homebrew forum Sufficiently Advanced Technology is Compatible with Magic
*Dreamscarred Press Psionics
*Akasha as Cybernetics.
There is no supernatural 'magic' as such in this setting, or at least it is very rare, ancient, or dangerous. The Lords of Umadra is essentially a science fiction setting -- the backstory of the setting is that a posthuman ark ship crash landed on an isolated jungle world when it dropped out of hyperspace, and the technology from this vessel is responsible for cybernetics which mimic magic, as well as the awakening of psionic abilities in some populations on the planet through genetic mutations. While the setting itself is largely on a level of technology comparable to pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, with variations from neolithic hunter-gatherers to complex urban societies that are still pre-industrial, there is a subsidiary level of technology which is post-human, nuclear fusion, etc.

Races of Umadra
The sentient species of Umadra are divided between several categories -- some are sapients (i.e., evolved humans and different variations of 'near-humans') who are descended from the survivors of the ark ship Astrimedon Excelsior, others are survivors of other alien colonies, yet others are migrants from alternative planes of existence, and some are indigenous to the planet.

Flora and Fauna
The non-cognitive (also known as acognitive/low-cognitive/near-cognitive) inhabitants of Umadra include the native flora and fauna, genomes from several invasive biological reservoirs, including that released by the crash of the arkship Astrimedes in Exchelsior. This vessel was the product of an Earth like planet that had biologically engineered the return of dinosaurs and similar other prehistoric reptoids for recreational, agricultural, and military uses. These genomes were introduced to Umadra by the destruction of the arkship, and spread rapidly in the new biome, as well as cross-pollinated with existing flora and fauna, creating a number of unexpected, and frequently quite-deadly, hybrids.
