So, Games Workshop made "zero tolerance on fan animation" that caused Emperor TTS to be postponed.
And in a sense of irony, they have matched some ideas from Emperor Text to Speech with recent story move.
Basically, Emperor/Roboute was given a TTS/ magic armor with the aide of Custodes/Aeldari that awaken them to a grim dark Imperium much to their horror.
Their first response is to fix the immediate mess, crack down on awful elements on Imperium (especially the Highlords), and writing an actual history without embellishments (Though Roboute Guilliman still haven't curb more on religion unlike Emperor in Text To Speech).
Also the current story allowed Emperor to finally speak and basically same personality to the point that Roboute Guilliman was horrified by his attitude.
If you want meme, both of them are into Eldars.
So I found irony that GW's new plot sharing with Emperor TTS plot despite instituting policies that ended it.

Well, yes and no.

Technically TTS Emperor is the most kind and caring depiction of the Emperor.

Canon Emperor: decides to genocide alien races for alien races enslaving and preying upon the weakened human race during the Age of Strife out of anger and revenge, starting the whole trend of genocide and xenocide that would become the norm for the Imperium
TTS Emperor: has an attitude of "as long as the alien race can work with the Imperium/isn't an existential threat in some manner its fine."

Canon Emperor: does not love any of his sons. They are all literally made to be temporary tools to be used and disposed of for various purposes: Magnus was originally supposed to be the guy to operate the Astronomicon, and said Astronomicon was always meant to be powered by psykers. Vulcan was supposed to be a dead man's switch so that Terra would blow up. Either Lion El'Jonson or Leman Russ was supposed to the Emperor's Executioner, Lorgar was a tool to preach his Imperial Truth ironically ending up creating the religion he wanted to stamp out. literally a being that considers any individual human a tool for his use and feels nothing about their expenditure and loves humanity as whole only an abstract concept, because he can't comprehend what its like to be a normal person.
TTS Emperor: reads bedtime stories to Rogal Dorn, gives Magnus a bike and such, and thats his unempathetic snarky part, his empathetic part is literally so optimistic that it starts melting Dark Eldar like a care bear stare.

Canon Emperor: is actually a mysterious being whose origins have never actually been confirmed, since due to the nature of wh40k canon, nothing is technically retconned since its all full of unreliable narrators about things we don't directly see or know about, and could be something other than what he actually says he is. His glorious golden giant form is actually a projection to deceive and manipulate people and the appearance and even what he says actually depends on the person hearing it, the Sisters of Silence when they see him are Blanks so they are the only people who have seen his real form, and they just see him as an ordinary man with no distinct features. His real history may not be what we think it is.
TTS Emperor: Yeah I was born from a bunch of shamans sacrificing themselves to become me at the dawn of time because I'm awesome like that, don't pay attention to how little sense this makes or how its from an outdated edition, this is a comedy version of this universe of course this is true.

Canon Emperor: resurrected Guilliman first purely because he is a good statesman/good at bureaucracy, Guilliman comes away seeing a bit of the true Emperor underneath all the glory and glamour and sees something horrifying and ruthless and that he is just a pawn to the Emperor
TTS Emperor: brings back Magnus has a conversation to charm Magnus into become back onto his side, gives Magnus his soul back and has funny family like squabbles with his nerd son over things...while repeatedly ordering to cut Guilliman's life support. (yeah I never figured out what the joke was with that or why TTS Emps was hoping to accomplish by ordering that, he has fourth-wall breaking awareness but he started this joke long before 8th/9th edition was a thing, so maybe it was just another dunk on the Ultramarines?)

like you have to understand, TTS did some polish work to make the Emperor more funny and palatable than he actually is. For example its quite likely for example that canon Emperor's answer to why he had all these religious trappings despite wanting to wipe out religion was as a vast form of theatre and manipulation of humanity to use aesthetics and performances he knew worked in the past to rally people under his banner to make him seem more glorious and leaderly, which humans just so happens to associate with divinity and holiness when left to their own devices for some reason, and he thought he could cut them off from taking that extra step of association because he had everything under control. Assuming that uplifting and saving humanity was/is his real goal, when it might not be.

like TTS Emperor is stated to have thrown away his empathy (and thus can get it back), Canon Emperor is pretty much stated to have none and be pretty much incapable of it, and thats assuming he is truly trying to do what he thinks is best for humanity. canon has pre-traitor ANGRON of all people pointing out that the canon Emperor is an outright tyrant who just kills any who resisted him and that "compliance" and "tithes" were just polite terms for brutal oppression.

So, TTS Emperor finding other solutions to all his big problems other than "mass murder those who disagree with me violently" on its own is a bit of a change from his canon self.
