Default Pathfinder 2: A Swashbuckler with a Whip viable?

Pathfinder noob here :). (Literally making my first character) Would a Swashbuckler who fights with a Whip be viable? I want to use something other than the Rapier. I don't think I would fall too far behind in terms of Damage, right? Are there any downsides or pitfalls to this? Again, this is for 2e. Have a great day!

Seems like it should work fine. The whip's low base damage shouldn't be an insurmountable difficulty, and the Swashbuckler class already has options that reward tripping and disarming tactics. Biggest hurdle might be the rarity of finding a magical whip sometime down the line, but having a crafter in the party would fix that.

I don't have a rules answer, but if you have trouble convincing your GM, then remind him or her that Zorro used a whip.
