    Honor takes a swipe at the fleeing mage, faltering on the execution and compensating by swinging extra hard, extra fast. When the mage dashed out into the wastes, Honor gives a pained warcry and leaps after them, swinging his hammer in massive, arcing swings meant to crush the warforged before he could escape. One of the attacks flared with divine energy as the last of his Oath energy exploded into grey light.

    Attack of O- (1d20+7)[24], for (2d6+4)[3][3](6) and (2d6)[5][2](7) fire damage. Chase 'em down and try to slap em down- (1d20+7)[23], for (2d6+4)[3][6](9) and (2d6)[2][2](4) fire damage. Second attack- (1d20+7)[25], for (2d6+4)[5][4](9) and (2d6)[3][1](4) fire damage. If either of the attacks hit, I level 1 smite for an addition (2d8)[3][5](8) radiant damage. Rerolling 1's and 2's for damage. If any attacks crit, that's where I'll use the smite damage. First reroll became a 1, second a 5, third a 3, fourth a 6. If all attacks hit I think it's for 55 damage total.

    Adam and Iron Witch shift around one another, stuck in the tight quarters of the ladder. Honor's wild swipe manages to strike through the fleeing caster's hastily erected Shield spell, but he keeps running.

    Down below in the belly of the beast, with nowhere to go, the warforged seems intent on fighting to the death, swiping again and again at Aanash, though its blows go wide on both strikes.

    Rounding the corner, Aanash leans back as the warforged takes a swipe at him. He deflects a second blow with the head of his hammer, and kicks the warforged back to make room for himself to wind up. Intentionally or not, his foe had acquiesced to his request - after all, Aanash had never ordered him to surrender.

    With a snap of a finger and a twist of the wrist, he tosses a sigil beneath his own feet. His other hand spins up his hammer for a thunderous blow. He aims for the extremities, trying his best not to render the mechanoid unrecoverable. "Those swipes were pretty rushed," he advises his opponent, "Focus! I want to see your best, not some panicked whimper."

    Svek's paralyzing beam gets shrugged off by the fleeing spellcaster. His order not so much, as the warforged suddenly locks up in place. Honor gives chase, swinging has maul this way and that, dealing significant crushing blows to the enemy, though he doesn't quite 'fall' from the damage - he does from the order though, dropping to his knees.

    Down in the belly of the beast, Aanash's thunderous blow cuts deel into the steel and wood, but the dread doesn't take hold on the fanatical warrior.

    Aanash hits for 17, though it makes its save vs. Frightened.
    Svek's paralysis wand flubs, but they fail their save vs. Command.
    Honor hits on all three attacks through the Shield - he's narrowly still alive, though he spends his turn Groveling, meaning that he does nothing.

    Am I perhaps too lazy to make a new map? ...yes. Honor's off the map adjacent to the warforged, that's basically all the changes going on here.

    Adam and Iron Witch are up. Taking fall damage instead of climbing down is always an option as well!

    While Adam heads up, Iron Witch swoops down on her wings and point blank blasts the warrior with her icy ray. The accumulated pain of the fall, Aanash, and now ice all prove too much for the warforged, and he collapses, his life extinguished.

    An investigation of the bodies reveals they held no notes or information regarding their purpose here, though they did have a nest egg of coins and potions. From the way the internals of the structure have been taken apart in the lowest level, they may or may not have been attempting to salvage components from the Colossus, though most of them appear far beyond use due to being swallowed in the earth.

    Reaching the surface, Adam notes that Honor has already dealt with the spellcaster, and approaches him. "It seems that the Host smiled upon us today. That could have gone far worse, had they stood their ground, rather than fleeing. If they'd only talked to us instead, they'd still be alive." Adam's voice grows morose towards the end of his short speech, and he shakes his head. "But cults, it seems, are the same all over."
    With that said, Adam will drag the fallen warforged caster into the colossus, and regroup.
    "While it seems that this is a perfect spot for a rest, it does have one flaw: There is no second exit. Is it worth looking for somewhere else to recover? We should finish searching it, although I suspect these warforged were doing the same thing."

    The warforged crumples to the ground, face covered in a chunk of ice and cracked open. "Hey! I said I wasn't going to kill him," Aanash wheels around to chastise the witch, grin twisted into a scowl. "I mean - I didn't, you did. But it is the principle of the thing! You will make me look sleazy!" shrugging it off, Aanash deposits his hammer back in the bell loop and stretches, popping some joints. "Aw well. Guess so much for asking questions, eh?"

    Regrouping with the others, he yawns. "Not going to lie, even I could use a nap. Do we need to dig around in the colossus guts though? Maybe if we make it quick. We are on a job, you know," he jokingly chastises, as if he were the epitome of professional focus. There's a sort of buzz in the air around Aanash. Those in metal gear, or made of metal, notice it more like a tingling in their armor - or their 'skin' - when he draws near. A sort of aura of clinging static, which occasionally makes tiny red sparks between metal objects close together in its radius.

    Honor watches Adam drag the body of the spellcaster, and a pulse of heat went through his hammer, visibly red and ready for more. But with a strange sigh that seems to reverberate from deep within him, the hammer fades, Honor slumps slightly, and he makes his way over to the other. "We should finish scouting this... form... before resting. We could have missed one of the warforged, and I'd much rather find them wounded but aware than with you all sleeping. Then I think it would be best we camp nearby, somewhere with a better view and more fall back points. If another party of the Lord of Blade's minions come, we could be caught inside a trap here."

    Joints squealing from stress, armor singed and punctured, Honor realizes that he is radiating an aura of light grey energy. It feels... cold... but reassuring. He feels reinforced. "We are growing stronger. This is good. We must, if we are to be prepared for what comes next."

    An investigation of the remainder of the Colossus finds it in a similar state of disrepair, if you can get to anything at all. The legs are entirely missing, leaving you with just one arm (that proves empty), the torso, and head, which you've now explored. The 'corpse' of the great beast has been secured, even as you nest within its belly. There seems very little time left for travel today before you start risking exhaustion, or yet another encounter, but whether you want to seclude yourselves within a place with no exit...well, that is the party's choice to make.

    But you are safe.

    Honor nods to the others. "I am not particularly perceptive, but I am willing to guard the entrance while you all rest. I can make repairs and maintain a vigil while you drink your wine and bandage your wounds." He didn't wait for a response, heavily sitting near the mouth's entrance and getting out a tool kit to preform repairs. Each movement squealed, shrieked, or elicited a pained whine of metal from within him.

    Having avoided any enemies from fleeing the scene, you're able to avoid any further attacks, and thought your rest might be uneasy it is nevertheless peaceful.

    In the morning, you emerge from the emptied shell of the Collossus, facing down the remainder of your journey. Though it has been a mere few days, the perils faced make it seem far longer. Your destination grows on the horizon as you step ever closer to it.

    Kalazart

    A dead city lies before you. Outside its walls are innumerable ruined homes, shattered by the Mourning and time, though ominously picked clean of corpses. You might see the occasional bodypart - a hand here, a foot there - but though people do not rot here all that does is turn them into an abundant and non-perishable food source, for those brave enough to consume flesh touched by the Mournland. Foggy trails that seem to glisten wet stream across the hard stone buildings, as if formed from ephemeral slugs. Wind howls and falls silent at random, at times deafening with noise, at times deafening with silence. The scent of ozone fills the air as if lightning were cracking mere inches from your face. The land is a barren face of cold sand and colder stone. Weapon emplacements, many of them beyond use, lie silent on the outer walls as eternal watchers. Kalazart was not a frontline city, and it's possible that what you see is all the true defenses that it held before it fell.

    The trail of the Lighting Rail tracks still lead into the city proper, a hole in the walls granting unfettered access. The tracks appear to be clear - remarkably so, perhaps even suspiciously so - should you wish to follow them into the city, as Oargev suggested. Your destination is - assuming no shifts in terrain - in the centre of the city, and the lightning rail tracks would provide an adequate path to reach it, albeit one with little cover to speak of from the buildings and roads that flank it on either side.

    Beyond the tracks, the massive stone walls are pockmarked by either original gates (some locked, some left open) or gaps due to the defenses falling. You are spoiled for choice on how to enter the city, and indeed which path to take towards the your destination. The fastest route is also the most obvious, but perhaps also the most risky, should the city prove more hostile to navigate than its outward appearance would suggest.

    Honor keeps a silent vigil while the others sleep in the colossus below. His only companion is the ghost inside of him, and the two have conversations long into the rest.

    The next day when the city becomes visible, Honor gazes over their target with military eyes, taking in choke points, areas of potential resistance, and searching for any enemies that might be in the rubble. Finding none, he turns to Svek and endorses his idea. "This makes tactical sense. We may be slowed, but we won't be in the open and we won't be far from cover." There is a squeal of steel as he extends a fist to the dragonkin, extending his thumb upward in approval.

    Resting after a brief prayer for the fallen, Adam wakes in the morning, and starts the laborious process of re-donning his armor. After he was properly armored, he mechanically ate his ration, before continuing towards Kalazart with the rest of his companions.

    With Kalazart clearly in sight, Adam stops, and surveys it, assessing the chaotic nature of the wind, the damage done to the city, and the lack of another living being in sight. After Svek and Honor discuss their plans, Adam shakes his head. "Let's not jump in before we look. The Rail's clear, too clean. Someone or something has been keeping it that way, and the rails can be a bit exciting, even outside of the Mournlands. The city was clearly attacked, and that means that there are almost certainly active defenses lying around, waiting to kill people like us." He pauses for a moment. "We're not in a hurry. Let's take a look at a few of the possible entrances, and get a better idea of what we are heading into."

    An especially keen eye from Adam notes that while many of the entrances to the city are unguarded and abandoned, one - as far east and south along the walls as you can see before it curves out of sight, and a good distance away from the lightning rail - appears guarded. Making out by who at this distance is impossible, but at the very least there are four individuals stood at one of the closed gates. Occasionally they pace back and forth, or seemingly stop to converse.

    Having taken in the presence of guards, Adam points towards the gate to the far east, and south. "It looks like that gate's guarded, so someone's organized. It could be the scavenger team, but I'd guess not. It's too far away for me to make it out. At least four people." He pauses for a moment, and looks down at his heavy, noisy armor. "I would suggest stealth, but I don't that's going to work out well for me. I could act as bait, while others hide. If the gods are kind, that will be enough."

    With that said, he starts to move forwards, approaching the lightning rail hole, keeping a wary eye out for any signs of danger. He does his best to minimize the clanking, but there was only so much he could do.

    Honor blinks at the suggestion of baiting out the possible foes at the occupied gate, thinks it over, and nods. "I am not skilled in stealth, but with my mount I can approach from a great distance away very quickly. May peace prevail, for if it does not, we will." Honor sets about summoning his stag, preparing for travel.

    Seeing everyone start to scatter in different directions, Adam pauses, before quickly addressing the group. "It seems that we're not quite in as much agreement as I thought. I was thinking we approach the rail hub, and see if we can see any threats. If we do, then we divert to one of the nearby breaches, or we deal with it. I think not worrying about the group guarding the gate is a good idea: Every other encounter we've had with the warforged here has not gone well."

    "Why look for threats?" the tiefling asks, motioning towards the guarded gate. "There are some right over there. We found them!" he points out cheerily. "They parley? All is well. They are an enemy? We ensure they cannot flank us." Whatever rationale he provides, it doesn't take a genius to figure out he's just itching for another fight.

    "We should keep things simple. There are entrances that are not guarded. We should investigate them to see if they are practical. Any fight we don't find means less unnecessary death. I will strike down any fool warforged who stands between me and our goals, but I don't relish it." Honor gestures towards the rail. "That should lead us to our goal. I can understand keeping some distance from the main rail path, but not trading a guarded path for a unguarded one."

    She regarded the lightning rails for a moment longer.

    "That said, I don't trust this path, either. It's too obvious a way to take, and ambushing would be child's play along the way. I could help us go over the walls at a good looking spot; that's less likely to have a trap set ready for travellers to fall prey to."
