I've got only a few more days left until the outdoor pool closes. Fun fact: Indoor pool water tastes different from outdoor pool water.

Mile swim results: 55 minutes flat. Though you may be wondering if I an Atlantean, or perhaps the missing love-child of Michael Phelps and a sea lion, I assure you all I am a regular guy. I put my swim trunks on one leg at a time, though at an admittedly blazing speed.

On the one hand, Google claims that a beginner should be able to swim a mile in 50-60 minutes. On the other hand, I choose to summon Saw Gererra and cry out "LIES! DECEPTION!" on Google's claims and also point out that your name is Beeftank, heavily implying that you are a beefy tank.

I like to think I would have shaved a few minutes off without the flight suit, but you’re right; what does google know? I bet your computer hasn’t swam a lap in its life.

Meh. Lake Superior has had it too good for too long. Anybody with Superior in their name needs some humbling.

I've heard it said that to this day people who disrespect the crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald tend to go missing should they do so in a port town on the Great Lakes.

Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot.

Personally, as far as songs about shipwrecks go, I'm more fond of "Flowers of Bermuda", covered by Heather Dale, originally by Stan Rogers.

Maybe not most, but I’d wager many feel that way.

Probably more prevalent where folks aren’t in an active struggle to survive and have more time to muse.

I've looked into it and all I could find was a mental disorder where some people believe themselves to already be dead(or undead) and claim that they can feel themselves decaying but... That doesn't line up with my experience.

I want to say that I might be more in tune with my body to my awareness of its shortcomings(pre-mature arthritis, weak back, bad vision, etcetera) except I didn't notice significant rapid weight loss which blows that theory right out of the water.

Sadly I do feel that way as well due to age and old work injuries.

Sundown was his highest ranking one, and the only one to hit #1 on the charts, if that's something you care about (it's not for me, but different strokes and everything).

I thought I was being fairly obvious with the WotEF references and then the Sundown followup but it seems I was mistaken.

It's been a long morning (sitting next to a coworker who will not shut up) and I'm fairly tired, so I was not sure if you legitimately had not hesrd the song despite seemingly referencing it, or what.

So today I learned that due to a legal battle regarding The Conjuring and its' sequels(regarding whether or not the events they were based on were historical events, and therefore fair use) that there is now a legal precedent that ghosts exist.

I got five bucks on "it's one of those songs that you've definitely heard before even if you were unaware and it'll probably sound familiar".

And, speaking of songs like that and recommendations, one of my favorite songs ever is Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street. I guarantee you've heard it before. Everyone has heard it before. You'll listen to it and think "nah this doesn't sound familiar" and then the sax will kick in and you'll be all "oh hey it's that song!"

And then, ya know, the rest of the song is amazing as well. But that's gotta be one of, if not the single most famous sax riffs ever.

That reminds me of Ebay's ruling on trying to use them to sell your soul.

If souls aren't real, you're running a scam which is against their policy. If they are real, you're selling part of a person; organ-trafficking is also against their policy.

    Would it be an organ?

Regardless, that sounds needlessly complex. They could just refuse on the grounds of insufficient proof of delivery.
