Items for a fisherman

I am playing in a low-power gestalt campaign (jumbo shrimp, amirite?) And I have 49k gold to mess around with for items which are flavorful but don't necessarily need to be good. My character concept is basically an old fisherman who watches the movement of fish to tell the future, and uses his handy fishing pole to yank "fish" out of the astral sea to cause spell effects. Do you have any off the top suggestions on items that could be fun to mess around with? Assume I'm a spirit shaman/psion with focus on divination and summoning.

Example: Eveloping pit filled with water, plants and fish to form a self contained aquarium/fishing hole to whip out while traveling if he can't find a more natural fishing spot.

An item of Gentle Repose would do it. Scraping a bunch of Brown Mold into a closed metal container could give you an ice brick to freeze them.
