Edit: Oof, rolled a 1 on the Greater Dispel if it's potentially applicable. I doubt the ML on the cocoon is 10 or less.

No transparency. You would need a Dispel Psionics to dispel manifested psionic effects. Though, the attempt solidifies your certainty that no 'magic' is involved here, and that this is being perpetuated solely by a psionic manifester or manifesters.

A friend of mine runs a game on Discord and told me his players had a quest to locate and check up on a human trapper that hadn't been to town in a while because his friends worried about him out there in 'the webwood forest' all by himself. They ended up breaking into his cabin, webbing him up while he was asleep in his bed, searched his house and found his Aranea wife in the basement protecting their eggs. Killed his wife, burned his kids in their eggs, looted his wife's corpse, and were surprised when the trapper went balistic and tried to murder them. They apparently ended up murdering him too, looted his cabin, and burned it down and plan on telling the townsfolk he was eaten by spiders so they 'avenged him' by burning the spiders.

The mission was literally check on the guy, and the plan had apparently been for him to give them a real quest - retrieving a magical spider-related item from a nest of magic spiders they needed to hatch their halfbreed children. So yeah. Glad you guys are not all murder hobos.

Also, I've been laid up with a stomach bug, so my post rate might be a bit slow and my posts filled with glaring spelling errors for the next week. I'm allergic to most antibiotics as well as the one of the most common inactive/filler ingredient for OTC meds, so I get to suffer longer than one would wish. And I happen to have a stupidly high tolerance for the common pain management meds too, because God hates me and wants me to be miserable. (:

Do we still want to go to the basement? It seems the tethers are connected to something above us, so our enemy is probably up there. Any victims might get drained dry if we engage head on though.

Taking down the enemy isn't part of our assignment, but managing to do so without having all of the remaining victims bled dry would pretty well guarantee success. I'm ambivalent toward going up first or going down the basement.

BTW, when Aeris 1st looked outside of the tower with Arcane Sight, she saw tendrils outside from the roof as well, right?

Yes, the tendrils were located near the top of the tower and extended to the end of the range of True Seeing.

I think we should be careful about killing enemies we encounter. I suspect that the reason the dog was recently deceased when we got passed the Tether Hounds was that the Tether Hounds' existence was drawing life from the dog, as evidenced by the cocoon still evaporating when we got there. When we killed the Astral Construct Tether Hounds, I suspect we also killed the dog.

It just keeps being relevant.

Anyway, I don't have much in the way of disables or combatant-removal; I kill, I possess, and a debuff. So morally and logistically I'm still working toward killing enemies; if you guys can capture/disable/contain enemies I'll defer to you, but otherwise I'm machine-gunning them down with arrows and then beating them to death with my dark magic and/or necro-swords.

If the team can occupy the enemy a couple of rounds, Dimensional Anchor + Forcecage should be an effective combatant-removal/disable against most things.

Hello, folks! Biscuit is a friend of mine and her wife relayed a request to let her players know that her appendix tried to explode, and she had to have it removed. Because of her compromised immune system, it was pretty rough for her. She's supposed to be home today or tomorrow, but she's more medicated than a college kid with daddy issues at a frat rave and will be that way for at least a few days.
