5404 gives a sad smile and a tear comes to his eye at hearing Lily remark about him saving her.
What was it for, if she's just going to be here?
At least she's alive.
That's better, right?

He starts to say something once, then twice, but in the end closes his mouth. Permission to talk, sir almost comes out. Some garbled mishmash of the truth almost comes out. But what could he say to help? Probably better to let the insane/ghost-infected lady talk. She's probably had some psychology training.

Maybe Lily's a normal person and they'll let her go after erasing her memories.
Screw it. It might cost him his video game or give him a month of starvation -- no, no, don't remember that -- but in the end 5404 does add, "There was something dangerous and scary, but it's gone now. We're going somewhere safer than right here. I'll stick by you while I can."

He's terrified of what even this minor statement might cost him, but Lily did mention he saved her. Maybe his statement would give her more comfort than theirs.

James looks visibly uncomfortable at the question. As 5404 speaks up, he seems to untense and give a nod to the SCP.

The Regenerator spoke truth, and Kuzmo merely nodded. Moving over next the Lily he sat down and held King out so the little girl could also pet the kitty. "We're all safe here now. No need to worry little one, the bad things are behind us." He said, a bit of pity in his voice.

Obviously Kuzmo was lying, but he felt for the child. Losing her home to smokey ruins, being taken away to a strange place where others would monitor any abilities he might have, potentially the be prodded and experimented on..... and who knows what if she had anything the SCP could use.

It mirrored his own plight as a child, when the Lady of Thorns and her band of brigands and cultists had enslaved him not long after the death of his Nana, by the hands of a psychotic mob. He recalled the things he was put through, the efforts the Lady had made to break him to her will...... used as a weapon and.....

He withheld a growl of anger as he remembered it all. Attempting to contain himself while around Lily who was frightened enough. Instead he continued scratching King's ears.

"Yes, that's a good boy. Just relax and enjoy the affection." He said, not sure if that was a bit of projection on his part.

"We're going somewhere safer than right here"

"We're all safe here now."

Cecily's head rises for just the moment as she tries to process the blatant, obvious lies being fed to that poor thing, the corners of her lips curling downwards. A hollow, whispered Safe? escapes her, and she very immediately regrets that. They are going to eat her!!

The sobbing continues with a subdued mockery of renewed vigour.

Cecily's head rises for just the moment as she tries to process the blatant, obvious lies being fed to that poor thing, the corners of her lips curling downwards. A hollow, whispered Safe? escapes her, and she very immediately regrets that. They are going to eat her!!

Kuzmo's eyes slid to lay eyes on Cecily, and switch back to their fiery red iris color for a moment. He smiled to her as he eyed her up. No words spoken however, merely licking his lips. Run. He thought. Run so I can chase you down.

He then passed King of to Lily but remained in his spot, his eyes resuming their more human color.
