Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
I can provide you with a djore of some kind, but I'm having trouble finding a web equivalent that Kate could use. Was there a psion/wilder power you had in mind?
@Damien, potions can be bough short notice at full price. (Batcave, Merchant's Guild Rep, short turnaround). Poison and Chain/Manacles are all available in the armory at the quantities you asked for.
@Kate if you can help me figure out an appropriate psionic equivalent to what you sought (entangling ectoplasm? Not quite the same) I can give the djore for free as the batcave periodically will stock up on new gear, just like Damien's poisons.

Okay, honestly I just had like a massive brainfart and kept trying to come back to this one. Some dungeon-drawer's dilemmas here.
Still, we're back in business.

Okay well, that's a relief. I *know* what I want to do with this dungeon just making it happen keeps proving to be a bear lol. I will keep working on it though hopefully we'll get to the action soon.

Mmmm, I think spellcraft given that Oracle can "see" a lot of the trap's metaphysical mechanisms. So yeah let's do that.

Boop. Simple, easy arcana, just heavily juiced to prevent a conventional rogue/ninja style disarm.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Hrm. So it's just passing through that whole passageway that triggers it? I can see why it's hard to disarm.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
I presumed take-10's on the disable attempts because you have levels in rogue plus all of your sensors on, and Damien's a ninja, so I figured there was 0 chance you'd fail to notice it (it's not that well hidden even before you consider it's magic and Oracle can see it.)
If you want to settle in and do a take-20, you could shut it down but you'd need to spend the time doing that, which could be lengthy. Take 10 on Know: Arcana reveals that this type of trap could be disabled much quicker (take 10 if unthreatened for your normal disable skill) with a properly attuned magical tool, but you don't have that in possession.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Okay, let’s go through the checklist.
1. Is there anything stopping Oracle from using the Julius switcheroo with Divine Transposition to stop this… hmm.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Okay, more specific question. This mysterious device.. Is it... like a bomb, chained to the hostage's chest? Does the tension chain run directly from the "bomb" device down through the hole in the floor? Does that mean the chair is taking the weight of whatever is pulling on it below, or the hostage...? Sorry to be a pain, but given this is literal hostage extraction, I figure I won't leave any questions on the table.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
No, no problem this is essentially what I was hoping people would probe for.
The hostage is tied down with a nest of chains and intricate locks, but they all more or less seem to convene on what could only be described as a gearbox on the back of the chair. A single chain runs from the box through the floor -- the tension, then, is between the box and whatever is beneath the floorboards, and then obviously between the box and the chains holding the hostage down.
Any character observing the hostage can therefore draw the following conclusions:
1. There's a reason the chains all terminate in that box,
2. There's a reason the box is attached to something beneath the floor, out of site,
3. Manipulating the box, the single tense chain or the other locks may lead to some sort of mechanical reaction.
Further insight will require Intelligence Checks, Skill Checks or whatever Divination Based Chicanery Oracle can come up with.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Hmm. Well, Damien can phase through the floor to the other end of the chain - but he'd be committed to ending up in that room, which would work if we have to defuse two bombs simultaneously but won't work if that leads to, like a tank full of sharks. Any ideas before I wall-phase, Bat-fam?

Seems to me that there ought to be some way for, if no one else, Oracle to determine what's under the floor before Damien commits to phasing into it.
