No worries, no harm done.
Speaking of the edits, they have been made to the previous post. If anything else looks off...it's too late because I hammered out the next update in between coats of paint.
Yes! Don't be surprised if I don't post that day.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
Have a fun weekend, with your explosives and barbecues! (EDIT) And lake, that sounds like it'll be a pretty bit of scenery!
Finished catching up; when I was merely skimming earlier, I thought one particular mention of "reinforcements arriving" had meant Bandra; turns out that particular instance was Mina and Akio's arrival! Things look to be going better than I assumed, at least for the moment. (I won't jinx it by failing to include that disclaimer!)Last edited by essCee; 2023-07-02 at 07:31 PM.

Can we tell how many grunts there are? And which one just caught the Vulpix?

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
Kareeah, do you mind if I make a hard copy of the Excel sheets and add moves' Power/Types/Notes to my copy? You could then, if they're to your satisfaction, copy them back onto the main version of the sheets so it's easier for everyone to check the moves quickly.

If you like, although if it’s causing problems I’ll try to prioritize it myself.

Alright! I've gotten through Mina and Mark so far, here's the alterations so far so you can give it a quick look in case there's anything terribly wrong with how I input stuff.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
And, finished! (Same link as last post.)
I discovered the Moves List tab midway through, which surprised me, since I had previously discovered the later Pokemon List tab... but the Moves List tab notes that it isn't converted to Gen IV versions of the moves yet, so I hadn't wasted a lot of time due to not knowing about it. Only thing that's missing is homebrew moves now! (Plus, I've only done the moves of the currently in-party Pokemon; another day I'll tackle making a separate moves list that is in the format of the [Character]'s Pokemon moves fields + is the Gen IV versions of the moves.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
Oooh, useful.
KI, please let me know if there's anything I can do to make you life easier too. I'd be glad to help. I really appreciate you running this game, especially with how difficult and time consuming combat it to calculate.
Also, Gnomes, what would it take for Mark to trade that Razor Fang to Less? Because I need one for Connie. All her attacks would have a 25% crit rate between that and Super Luck, which sounds like so much fun.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
Get yer own ultra crit item, old man. This was my loot that I stole at some point, fair and square.
But more seriously, probably would take Less demonstrating that Connie will actually obey his commands consistently. It's a great item on an already high-crit lass with a multi-target move, but better to spread out if the high-crit pokemon isn't reliable in dangerous situations. Plus, it spreads out the field for high-priority targets instead of stacking everything on one pokemon.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
You know, back in my day kids had some respect for their elders! None of this "oooh, it's my loot" monkey-business. *shakes cane*.
Fair and reasonable. (Also, it's probably not impossible to find another.) I actually already have several plans in place for that. Hopefully helping her notify Hangi's family and friends will help. Ideally though all our Pokemon are high priority and dangerous to Bandra. I already have some plans in place to accomplish that for my whole team, minus Dancer (Dodrio just doesn't learn anything that threatening en mass. My best idea has been intentionally not upgrading early bird to insomnia and teaching rest and sleep talk.) But if everyone can get a full team of six Pokemon that are all high priority and dangerous, Bandra's going to be in some real trouble.
Also, KI, is there a formula for obedience in this game. I swear I saw one earlier, but I scanned the thread again and can't find anything.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
There was at one point, then I realized half the inputs were DM discretion anyway and just decided to pick a number that seemed reasonable outright. Less complicated that way.
Suffice to say, if the Pokémon is one or more of the following:
- Higher level than what you train already
- Stolen
- Shadowed
- Abused
- Legendary
...then it's likely there will be an Obedience roll involved.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
Not gonna lie, for a second there I thought you meant "Less (the character) complicated it." I feel like this is going to be a common recurring problem for me when I'm sleepy. Dang you, Lord Ruby, for making your character's name an adjective. Leave your Mark with a noun next time.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
You have no idea how many times I've had to change the word less to fewer in one of my posts. I blame my fiance for suggesting the name and the nickname.
EDIT: I knew I remembered a formula. Glad to know I'm not insane. Picking seems reasonable though. Makes it easier, and easier to adjust based on the circumstances.Last edited by Lord Ruby34; 2023-07-06 at 05:15 PM.

Hard decision there, but I don't see another plan that doesn't result in Bandra getting the shadowed Pokemon.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
We'll need a hazmat suit before we open that trunk back up... hopefully the Stunky will recover from being knocked unconscious first. Mark does have a revive he could use to wake the shadowed critter up for capture but given how dangerous their mission tomorrow might be I'm going to save it for that instead.
Also! Updooting the pokemon wishlist, because I can't keep it consistent for more than 4 months. That would be illegal.
- First and foremost: A member of the Rowlet line... which will be replacing my Snivy line slot. While I do love Serperior's design and it's decently tanky, the move list leaves a lot to be desired. Meanwhile the owl can fly around and eventually gets ghost typing and a good selection of moves to choose from.
- A multi-stage dragon type pocketmanz except for the Deino line. Because dragons are cool, m'kay? But Deino takes so insanely long to evolve that we'll be in our 50's before it even reaches its second stage.
- Lucario is still actually a really cool pokemon, and apparently they're telepathic... but with aura instead of psychic stuff. So they talk to people's souls/ fighting spirit??? Just a neat pokemon. I know that Mina has a Riolu, but you know what's better than one magic talking dog? Two kung-fu action magic talking dogs. Heck yeah.
- A shiny Rayquaza would be neat. They have Rayquazas in Helnith, right? Their legends mentioned the Eon pokemon, so at least one Latios and Latias has been in the area. That means it's not a massive stretch that the sky snake dragon would be here too, right? Right. The leader of Bandra has a legendary, so it would only be fair if we got one too, to balance it out.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
. . . Does this jeep even have a trunk? (Now requesting a picture of something close to our model of jeep.)
So, fun pedantic fact! I think it's actually that Bandra number two that has a legendary Pokemon. So far I think the only Pokemon we know Selene has are a Tyranitar and a Bronzong (and I think only Mina knows about the Bronzong?). That's not to say she doesn't have a legendary, just that if she does we don't know about it.
