Whats the point of mordaikens sword?

The point of Mordenkainen's Sword is, IMO, to showcase that Mordenkainen is a doofus who's not as good as he think he is.

My headcannon is that this spell is the result of Mordenkainen trying to one-up Bigby and failing hard.

At one point, yes. Bigby was already an accomplished wizard at the time, and a villain, but Mordenkainen beat him in a wizard duel and Bigby became an ally after some time under a Charm effect.

Doesn't mean that Bigby didn't do better than his mentor for his one specialty.

I think it works a LOT better than the RAW spell. I’d wanna get it at a table and see it in play, rather than just the White Room of Theoryspace.

I tend to think of Crown of Stars as the 'official' rebalanced Mordenkainen's Sword.
