"A good thought", Sisir focuses his gaze on the mechanical figure in front of him. Drawing his shield and mace, Sisir advances alongside his brother, pushing the head of his mace into the figure's chest.

Attempt to use Hypnotic Stare on the mechanical figure in front of him. If it is a creature, it takes -3 to Will Saves and Attack Rolls. If the target is immune to mind-affecting effects, then it +2 to any related saves and have a 50% chance to ignore the Stare's effect every round.

Move 5' North and push figure directly North in the chest with his mace.

"Our new companions are not shy", Iluvar says to the Scribe. Iluvar then looks for any motion or sound that might contain a threat.

Akif pauses, eying the mechanical figures cautiously, raising his shield he draws the spear dropping into a heavy phalanx like stance and seems to exude an air of indefatigability. "Let us see if they are merely for decoration..." he says before stepping forward, continuing to advance until he can reach out and lightly tap the one in front of him with the tip of the spear on its metallic head.

As they do this ...

"Our new companions are not shy", Iluvar says to the Scribe. Iluvar then looks for any motion or sound that might contain a threat.

Just as the brothers step into the room, but before they can boop the bronze statues, clockwork gears in them spring to life! The sudden shift from quiescence to menace is enough to drop Akif out of stance and tactical presence, and Sisir burns his magic to become more responsive even as his hypnotic stare is interrupted.

Begin Round One ...

R1T37: Myki's rapier is in her hand, and nobody saw it happen, and she gets into a loosey-goosey fighting stance. With her other hand she seems to down some type of pharmaceutical. She then darts in and acrobatically gets into a flanking position with Akif.

R1T27: A stance the Scribe seems to have been in is re-adopted while at the same time he adds in some other element. He then moves in past the others and carefully gets to the far side of the room near a conspicuously-placed potted plant. "Clockwork soldiers!" he calls out. "Mindless constructs built to fight to the death for its creator. Versatile and wholly unpredictable, and programmed to wield a variety of weapons with a variety of tactics."

R1T21: Red (clockwork soldier) steps into the nearest corner, and completely fails to disarm Akif of his weapon.

R1T18: Iluvar, what do you do?

Iluvar concentrates briefly and then moves into the building trying to dodge any attacks and using his allies to shield any blows. He then tries to remove the weapon from blue. He says, "Coming through, don't mind me."

Blue steps up into a flanking position against Iluvar and attacks twice, but the fast half-elf completely stymies the construct.

R1T10: Sisir, you had burned off your anticipate peril. Your hypnotic stare was interrupted by the sudden breakout of combat (i.e., initiative). What do you do?

Blinking at the sudden movement, Sisir focuses his gaze on the figure ahead of him once again. "With me, if you please" he says, his voice booming as he steps forward, swinging his mace as he does so, striking out twice at the head of the automaton.

Akif bellows a great laugh as the automaton attacks him. Spinning the spear he drops into a low stance, inspiring his fellows once more and thrusts savagely at the thing before following up with a great smashing shield.

R1T10: Blinking at the sudden movement, Sisir focuses his gaze on the figure ahead of him once again. "With me, if you please," he says, his voice booming as he steps forward, swinging his mace as he does so, striking out twice at the head of the automaton. The first attack is merely a probing attack, checking the enemy's armor, which is stout. Blue lists its halberd high for protecting the head, and Sisir simply hits it in the midpoint of upper torso and abdomen for 8 mod, though he didn't feel his stare affect the creature (this time), despite trying to trigger it.

R1T9: Akif bellows a great laugh as the automaton attacks him. Spinning the spear he drops into a low stance, inspiring his fellows once more and thrusts savagely into the thing's left shoulder for 31 mod before following up with a great smashing shield into the thing's head for 7 mod. The soldier gets hit up against the wall, but not pinned against the wall, and just takes its footing as normal.

End Round One, Begin Round 2 ....

R2T37: Myki gives Blue a dark look and sidesteps to the northwest before stabbing Blue through the upper back for 18 mod + confused, and then stabs it through the left elbow for 15 mod. Where the men strike with bone crushing power, she strikes with the supernal speed of a viper.

The first strike got the benefit of the stare, but when it got struck with the second (which it ignored from your stare), it sealed in that it would attack her. Just letting you know how follow-on attacks work when confusion effects are in play. There will be no "confusion roll effect."

R2T27: The Scribe makes a quick study of Blue and cuts its leg for 14 mod + prone.

Iluvar goes for what best passes as a throat punch on the fallen soldier for 26 mod. There is a slight pause to see if the soldier was additionally affected, but it was not. He then just manages to kick it in the lower back for 21 mod (painful stare). It is just enough, with seemed to Iluvar more damage than expected, to cause the clockwork soldier to deactivate, so he throws out a threatening kick at Red.

R3T37: Myki, seeing the battle well in hand and no way to get to the foe, steps down to the door to the east and carefully listens. As calmly as if there were no battle she says, "I saw something like an indoor garden through the window this way when we came in. I sense no latent danger, and hear signs of no creature past this portal."

R3T27: With an impressive bit of footwork The Scribe darts over, fails a disarm against the soldier, and then heads north next to the double doors.

R3T21: The soldier counters with a cut against the side of Akif's right knee for 12 mod before attacking Sisir and being beaten back by a shield.

R3T18: Iluvar presses the attack. He does a drop knee down onto its right foot for 3 mod, then up with a high elbow dig to the lower chest for 3 mod, and finishes with a power knee to the groin for 10 mod. It is still (barely) upright, so Iluvar keeps his momentum and does a digging elbow drop to the upper part of its chest, and finally destroys/deactivates the soldier.

Combat Ends!

Pharasma's servant's job complete, Iluvar's judgment goes away.

Myki heads north with the Scribe to listen at the door. Hearing nothing, Myki says. "Okay, double to north, or single to east ... and from the window I saw the east has an inner garden or something."

Rubbing his knee where he was struck he grins, ”A warm welcome. Maybe east but be wary lest they have more dangerous plants on the next garden.” Heading to the eastern door he glances at his brother, “Are you well?”

"Quite well" he says, grinning back at his brother, "and what about the rest of you? You mortals aren't quite as tough as we are, so it's a good thing we took most of the hits, yes?" Laughing, he moves to stand next to his brother. "Now, which of these intriguing doors do we want to pass through next?", he says, gesturing in turn to the northern and eastern doors.

Akif inclines his head and thanks Iluvar as the bruises on his knee fade away. ”Small yet mighty.” he offers to his brother motioning at Iluvar and Myki. “please allow me..” he adds as he slings his spear onto the sheath on his back and reaches out with his hand to pull open the eastern door and see what lies beyond.

The ceiling and two outer walls of this room are made entirely of panes of glass. The light coming through the windows seems amplified, and the room is as bright as noonday. Several tables and racks stand covered with green, leafy plants in pots, as well as four identical marble busts of the same young, clean-shaven man. A plain wooden chair sits in the center of the room, facing a small desk with a mechanical arm protruding from the top. Part of the wood is scarred and stained.

The giant enters the greens house carefully, not bothering to unsling his spear yet, but stops short of tye desk and looks around carefully. The pointing at a bust, ”Little Myki, you are a native to here yes? Do you know this man?”

"Your constant need to define a relative title," says Myki as she follows in, "is inefficient, as it is not a socially accepted title born of something achieved ... or failed. It is based on a quality that is outside of my ability to control. Therefore, you are simply ignorant of its effect as a pejorative, or you seek to establish psychological dominance because all of your muscles fail you when it comes to your self-esteem. Attempting the likely-prepared, 'but it is a true statement' is meager and threadbare when posited against my previous statement. Truth can be used as a weapon. Before speaking, don't just ask 'Is it true?' ... but also ask 'Is it kind?'"

She walks the length of the path and back, looking into both sides of the plant area, and then beckons the rest of the party in. "Clear. I don't recommend a search because we're not here to rob a man's house, but to verify and rescue an alleged kidnapping victim. But I'm just an outside contractor. Do what you do, or don't, and let's move on."

Iluvar says, "Let us not tarry, the occupant of this house seems devious and has not a care for the dangers his contraptions and pets present. I care not to let him be more prepared than he already is."

"Brothers, as long Myki says iit is clear, can you lead us through the door?", Iluvar queries.

With no more discussion of the owner Akif shrugs, letting Myki’s words wash over him. ”Let us see what else lies in this place.” he offers quietly crossing the greenhouse to the next door

Following his brother, Sisir moves to stand beside the door. "Once more into the unknown" he says, before turning to Akif and gesturing to the door, "after you, dear brother."
