The strange encounter quickly turns nightmarish as tongues start grabbing the group.

When the frog attempts to grab Millie, Ted flies into a rage and swings his flail at the long tongue of the hungry creature. Soon enough another tongue grabs at Ted, so he attacks that one too.

Ted with a flurry of swings hits the tongue holding Millie, which quickly lets go and pulls back into the frogs mouth, and then the tongue holding himself, which let's go as well.

Miss Pendagrast

Miss Pendagrast sinks into the waist deep muck silently, but with a look that means something will be screaming and bleeding soon. She stalks forward with the supple grace of an alligator she had seen in her youth when all Gehenna breaks loose, mostly with the loud croaks and cries of surprise as the disgusting tongues lash out. She abandons subtlety, hoping to reach her friends before it is too late, but the muck clings at her, even thrashing and splashing forward at full speed she is just out of range...she really should invest in some sort of ranged weapon...because right now, she feels like the loudest and FILTHIEST rogue in all the realms.

Unable to run through the muck, Ms. Pendergast double moves 30 ft south, almost getting in range of the frog. The Frog is very much Eyeing Grey, as the one who actually has harmed it, but unable to grab 2 people at once, he goes to swallow what his tongue already is tasting.

"Would've been great to know that earlier!" Grey says in response to Millie's warning, now that he's waist-deep in the muck there's no way he could ever put enough distance between him and the amphibians. And besides, there's still Cheyanne trapped in a deadly embrace with one of the frogs - so he goes all in, trying to stab the enemy right in its oversized head in the hope it would be enough to put it down for good.

Rose harumphs that her shot went rather wide. One giant frog dies, leaving two left. She decides 'in for a penny' and fires her next shot at the frog straight ahead before it tries to grab Ted. "On your left, Ted!"

Roses attack strikes true causing the frog to bleed.

The former middle frog takes an astounding leap [flavor, just a move action], and lands on the peninsula, it turns and locks eyes onto Grey frog bane, with hungry intent in its eyes.

The last frog on the log, unable to charge through the swamp jumps [moves] to Ted and attempts to bite him.

The Frogs maw cannot pierce teds armor and shield, his defenses protecting him from being todays lunch.

Seeing the behemoth frog threatening Cheyanne collapse, Miss Pentagrast mutters a very unladylike curse and whirls around to engage the wounded frog that appears to be flanking her.

"I am NOT enjoying the bayou!" Miss Pentagrast hisses as her blades lash out.

"Whoa. Thanks" Ted tells Millie as she uses magic to slay the frog that was about to try to make a meal of him.

He circles around so as to flank the remaining frog with Ms. Pendergast.

Rose lets her crossbow relax to her side and steps forward. "Ornery little spuds, weren't they?" she asks in general as she gets a closer look. "They showed no fear... wonder if there's anything of value in them?"

She thinks about opening one up, but decides maybe now isn't the time.

Grey tries to clean his dagger with little success, the swamp not the best enviroment to take care of one's gear. So he wades in the murky waters a little more and tries to board the raft, to check how stable it is (they are, after all, quite the sizeable group) before waving to the others to join him on the boat "Don't care much for these things right now. Want to know where we are, there might people there." Grey says with a sense of urgency, then points at the lights in the distance.

As Grey investigates the raft, he finds it is functional, large enough for every lone. And even comes with poles to navigate the swamp, with his dark vision he can see inside the makeshift tent atop the raft, there is a bundle of cloth worn old from time with several items within.

Grey weighs for a moment if he should just pocket whatever he finds and not tell the others - after all, he's who-knows-where and his own life is definitely on the line; but in the end he chosses not to break the others' trust over so little, so he waves and points at the bundle of (hopefully) useful loot he has found on the boat "Hey, someone has left stuff here." he says, then kneels to see if there's actually something that might help them survive the unknown Plane they're in now.

The most dangerous thing about this is the dried Algae in the fabric that is kicked up into the air as you unwrap this bundle. You find a small cache of weapons of superior quality.

Rose taps her chin and then snaps her fingers. "Let me see if anything comes up with my arcane sight. Can't be too curious... I mean, careful."

She casts Detect Magic, then looks at the tent and the contents within to see if there's anything more interesting than mundane eyes can see.

Ted's rage fades as the battle ends. He looks a bit winded for a little while.

"I don't understand this. What did the frogs normally eat? Giant bugs? Were the local people not aware of the frogs? Unless ... If we really are on another plane, maybe the frogs were also not natives."

He looks with interest at the raft and the weapons that were found - in a bundle.

Rose takes an interest in the weapons. "I am seeing auras around these weapons." She attempts to discern their properties.

Miss Pendagrast

After the beast collapses in front of her, Amelie breathes a sigh of relief, danger is only fun when the other party is the only one in danger. She wipes the sweat from her brow and notices she is filthy, alive but mucked up. She lets out a disgusted miff and blows the hair out of her face. Seeing the interesting in the raft, she squishes towards the others, each squish peeving her further.

"Fafgh! I just bought these boots!", She grouches. The notion of loot, cheers her up a little. "What do we have here, Rose?"
