Re: Craft a nemesis
Joe is an evil executive of a large conglomerate corporation. His heart is bitter and dark; He wants the whole world to follow he drab pretentions of the corporate world and to be subordinate to him. He has several coffee themed powers including the ability to spray scalding hot water at people and the ability to turn people into fast zombies under his control. The zombies can be wrested from his control by exposure to other, less aggressively miserable, caffine drinks

Re: Craft a nemesis
The Blue Raja makes a crossover appearance from Mystery Men in defence of diners everywhere! (For those who aren’t familiar with Mystery Men, he throws forks… which are immune to Spoonerism’s powers as they aren’t spoons; and yes, it’s blatantly cheating to just cite an existing character, but it seemed fun to do so in this case).
Thunderbat Hailing from a dying planet, Chiro leads its last refugees, and tries to prove himself worthy and that his people deserve this world’s hospitality though feats of heroism; he stalks the criminals of the night using his powers of flight, sonar and a scream loud enough to stun humans.

Re: Craft a nemesis
Straw Man, a card-carrying agent of evil whose supernatural mastery of Anger lets him recruit minions with ease and set heroes and armies against each other. His paychecks come from paranoid xenophobes, politicians, and fellow monsters who would see Thunderbat's people enslaved or worse. Straw Man's current favorite shtick is to drop a bunch of hints that he's working with Thunderbat to conquer the world, sowing just enough distrust among the other heroes that they'll ignore the oppression of T-bat's people for the foreseeable future.

Next target: Flipper, whose key magical shtick is to reverse gravity in the area around them. It's somewhat impractical! Without a nemesis, they mostly lend their power to scientific study, and have gotten a free ride at a university in exchange. The nature of their nemesis also informs their call to action!

Re: Craft a nemesis
Side-Fall: Josh Wellington was a standard collage jerk. He was mean, pathetic, and utterly unlikable. One day, however, he found a weird gem lying around on campus. When he tried to pick it up, it flashed brightly and then vanished! Later, Josh discovered he had the ability to invert gravity 90 degrees! Initially, he used this for things like driving really fast, but then he started to use it for pranks. Pranks like bashing peoples heads into walls, toppling trees onto homes, yeeting cars off bridges, collapsing skyscrapers...you know, normal stuff. One day he tossed the wrong car off a bridge and ran afoul of Flipper, who let Josh, newly christened as Side-Fall, alter gravity to hurl a trashcan at him, before flipping it and defeating the villain, who has now sworn revenge.

Genie: Genie is, well, a genie. He is bound by prior deals with humans not to directly exercise his powers outside of the wishes of another, and, while not obligated to grant wishes to any who request them, he must fulfill the wishes made by those he has already agreed to grant wishes to. Thus, he usually only agrees to grant one wish each time he deals with a wisher. He is bound to strictly follow the letter of the wishes with as little perversion as possible. A benevolent being, he tries to find those who are pure of heart so he can grant them wishes and spread good in the world, but his inability to magically probe the hearts and intentions of those he deals with can possibly result in some trouble.

Levid Het is another granter of wishes. He is able to perceive and grant the deepest, darkest desires of mortals… but having a wish granted by him always seems to twist the recipient, with many sliding deep into debauchery and sin before they know where they are. He’s also not too fond of competition, though it amuses him to mislead the Genie into inadvertently causing woes for the recipients of their wishes in the way that Levid himself deliberately does.
The Graveyard Guardian is a cybernetically enhanced animated skeleton who was an early creation of the Necronerd, but who resisted commands because the soul bound to this collection of bones and circuitry belonged to a fundamentally decent person, Sheila Shelby, who was the Necroberd’s own former primary school teacher. Now she works to both protect people from villains and to reform them, being particularly good at establishing rapport with younger delinquent villains, those of a monstrous appearance or whom monstrous things were done to.

Re: Craft a nemesis
The Necronerd's favorite creation was also his first: the Necroberd, also known as Oberon the Parrot. Bringing his beloved pet back from the dead is what first interested the villain in his signature field. For Oberon's part, he combines a cyborg's physicality, laser weaponry, and computational power with a parrot's considerable-but-still-not-quite-human intelligence and motivations. He's cute and friendly, but he's loyal to his master, has no sense of boundaries and is liable to hold a grudge. The result is a creature that GG doesn't really want to hurt, but which is basically impossible to reason with.
Unless you brought some Really tasty crackers.

Once upon a time, a certain entertainment podcast made a hypothetical proposal: ten million American dollars, and in exchange, a deadly, immortal, omniscient snail would be made to slowly pursue you for the rest of your days. Little did they know that a certain budding eco-anarchist would happen to hear them, tears still in her eyes as she had just watched yet another rainforest fall and burn. She had played the podcast trying to unwind, yet the meme gave her an idea. One which, over another decade of frustration and anger, became more and more enticing - not to mention more realistic, as circumstances opened her mind to dark thoughts and darker magic.
As global temperatures threatened to bring the planet to its knees, she traded away her name in a desperate ritual, and The Snail was born. Able to sense and pursue anyone who controls more than the critical ten million in wealth, she stalks her gluttonous prey across the world and ends their lives with but a touch. In addition to being impervious and immortal, she pierces tricks and defenses with ease, guessing passwords on the first try and slowly-but-surely slipping through barriers as though she were bug-sized. When she invokes her magic, a series of spiral-shaped scars in her flesh glow green as they channel her totem's power.

Re: Craft a nemesis
The enemy of The Snail is Mr. Shrew'd. He normally uses his keen intellect, personal wealth, and rodent themed equipment to defeat through subterfuge those he cannot defeat through legal means. The Snail often interrupts his vigilante deeds, but he often wonders if she was right to take such drastic action.
My new character is:
The Glocktopus. An octopus, with human level intelligence and an ample supply of ammunitions. They mostly do classic banditry, but also dabble in assassination. They move around on land via a robotic suit that also helps them hold their numerous handguns.

Catana, the psionic cat; a rival animal assassin of enhanced intelligence, cruel whimsy, who possesses the ability to create blades of psionic force from its clawtips, as well as to create a psionic shield around itself that diverts projectiles away. Unfortunately for Glocktopus, Catana has recently been to a greek restaurant and now has an urge to eat the competition.

Eurodivision: a failed Eurovision performer, whose shame at earning nil points for their home country unlocked a power to telepathically overstimulate the amigdalas of other people over a wide area, creating excessive fear and anger. They get hired to use these abilities to cause gatherings to break up in violent panicked discord; something that unscrupulous people who’d like to disrupt and discredit one or another group are only too happy to pay for.

Re: Craft a nemesis
Deep Breath comes from a planet where excessive negative emotion draws monsters; her people awakened powerful fighting abilities and a form of external, personal force energy as a result of these constant battles. She prefers to use her own "aura" to connect with the auras of other living creatures and carefully soothe and calm them, and can connect with a small crowd all at once, but in a pinch she can forcefully blank all emotion near her for a time. Deep Breath is a capable fighter in her own right, but prefers to calmly talk things out whenever possible.

Once a minor thief with a host of failed attempts at burglary, Randall Taylor's life changed when he stumbled upon a strange antique writing desk in the mansion of his latest target. Something compelled him to sit down at the chair in front of the desk, and a being appeared behind the desk and offered him a deal: if he gave the being some of his "energy", he would become the best burglar in history. Randall agreed.
Now with the power to fade from sight, pick or bypass any lock ever made, and summon claws and wings of bone to help with "evading capture", as well as an extremely accelerated metabolism that leaves him with an endless hunger as well as a cadaverous appearance, Randall Taylor calls himself Skeleton Key. He mostly breaks into food stores, restaurants, and other places where food is plentiful, with the occasional big money heist that is inevitably spent on yet more food to pay his part of the deal.

Mina Slob or as the press calls her: Walled Chef initially build her multi billionaire empire in a culture where serving lots of sweets to guests and expecting them to eat them is part of common etiquette. She uses her vast array of wealth and resources to attempt to catch him and is often present at her attempted traps, because she considers it healthy exercise.
Fireiry hearth or George Smith was once voted the most boring person at school. When he threw the medaillon away in pain it landed on the head of a particularly vengeful unicorn hurting them, but since they were an unicorn they could only grant productive powers, so they granted George the power to spread joy to everyone at least a kilometer away from them and at most 3 kilometer away from them. George uses this as an positive enforcement mechanism to keep people away from restrictive areas, like battle areas for super powered individuals, investigations, etc.

Re: Craft a nemesis
The fire gang are a small anarchist cooperative, all of whom have low grade powers or medium grade technical skills applicable to flame, who are fond of disruptive pyrotechnics and dislike both George Smith’s manipulation of people’s emotions and his adoption of a fiery moniker while doing nothing with fire himself. They aren’t homicidal about it, just prone to throwing pyrotechnic pranks the way of him and any use of his powers. They also dislike Maeve’s manipulation of people’s emotions, though they find it more challenging to prank her with her aquatic nature and heroic allies, and are disliked by the Living Flame who views them as an irresponsible fire hazard (although they haven’t accidentally killed anyone yet).
Captain Yugoslavia What do you do when you’re the superpowered experiment of a country that no longer exists? Not that Tito’s team of scientists achieved the most powerful range of powers in the first place - Josip Josanovic at his peak was mildly more athletic overall than Olympic decathletes and can see in infrared, but that’s about it, and he’s getting on a bit now. He spent most of the Balkan wars in a Serbian prison after a peaceful protest, and now has reinvented himself as a general purpose global peace activist.
