Ouch. Too... much... sight. The image of the red card felt burned into both his regular and his superavian senses and the sight of blood on his feathers after wiping his beak certainly didn't help. But fainting and freaking out was for later. Now, Archibald thought in a suitably dramatic fashion, was the time for action.

Taking aim at the red card hanging from the creature whatshisname was fighting, Archibald started running and furiously flapping his wings – hoping to invoke a sense of mighty eagle but coming closer to exploding chicken.

    Spoiler: OOC

Archibald is attempting to use skill (oh no!) to snatch the red card from the human fighting Enyo.

    Skill roll! [roll0]

The roll got screwed up so I made a new one in the OOC.

The white-coat barraged further by Enyo stumbles back towards the room where it came from, falling over Ace in the process (who doesn't get the card, sadly) he falls but is able to hit a small red button on one of the white sentinels! Which would probably had done something if it wouldn't have been to one charred by Thunderbok. The human, now on the ground looks around frantically, visibly panicking.

"D04, get them!" The borker who was stunned by Scramble's panache doesn't do anything still too intimidated by the chicken, though it doesn't seem to be able to understand you, as it doesn't react to the declaration that the white coat is food too.

"Oh no! Thought manipulation!" Frantic look towards the open googie door. "Electrical manipulation too! And we thought they were failures. Noooo!" Way too exhausted by all the things happening around him the human loses consciousness.

The borker licks his nose and slightly wags with his tail.

Since the googly chompy borker doesn't seem to understand, Scramble points a wing tip at her eyes, then at the borker, before closing the kennel door again.

The people wisely decided to take a nap, so the shades-wearing chicken strolls over to the people, with a small hop over an arm, and tries to get at the rectangle thing the others tried to get at. Maybe it is a Level 2!

Enyo clucks scornfully at yet another fallen foe. She doesn't feel like this one is worth the time it would take to deliver the killing blow. And so, she eyes the four-legged beast instead before turning and tilting her head to inspect the thunderchicken. YOU FARED WELL, DESTROYER OF THE WHITE PILLAR! YOU GET TO DECIDE!! [cluck] she tells Thunderbok in a solemn holler. SHOULD THE SLAVE LIVE?! [cluck-cluck!] to Enyo, the answer might seem obvious enough: four legs bad; death to the beast! But she is, as a sign of incredible generosity, ready to let her fellow conquerer cast the judgement.

Deep in the burrows of genetic memory, Thunderbok recalled certain canines of lore. The wise wolf. The clever fox. The cunning coyote.

Looking into the vapid, blank eyes of the drooling googie, Thunderbok recognized none of that collective magnificence in the beast currently slurping the white coat's face.

"Bok... (Bah...)" The electric rooster fluttered his wings with indignation. "(This mangy cur is too stoopid to waste my time and energy on!)"

Thunderbok gave a final cluck as he then pooped on the white coat.

The clad in white (now somewhat besmeared) does have a a card at his side, but you're not sure if it's level 2 or lower (or higher). The bright yellow color though is easy to see. The card can be obtained by a swift peck and some pulling (no checks required.)

The googie seems occupied in smelling the white-coat and doesn't seem to bother you further.

Well, there is an easy way to find out whether the card is a Level 2! Scramble scrambles over to the animal storage door, flap-hops up to the thing under the sign, and just, uh, slaps the cards against it. Maybe put it into the thing somehow. Beep, damnit!

As the chicken attempted to use the card with the door, Archibald's eyes narrowed. Using a card was his idea. And besides, a yellow one was clearly inferior to a red one.

Still, he moved closer to the door, just in case the stolen and worsened idea paid off.

Enyo fears not doing what's mainstream any more than she fears… Well, anything else. She makes sure to place some acidic feces on the downed enemy before beginning to make her way in a manner as regally slow as she could without compromising the practicality of her own locomotion over to the other door. It's not like there is much violence left to inflict on the current occupants of the slave's pen room.

The four holding cells are actually quite spacious, to elaborate a bit.

North west cell: A pretty big and very long chicken with scales all over and majestic wings

North east cell: Some pure feather balls, together with an Orpington.

South west cell: Some bones that take the form of a bird weirdly they are jumping around and moving just like a chicken.

South east cell: A very sad but also very weird looking rooster with scaly wings and tail (normally sized) together with some chickens that don't seem to be moving.

The inhabitants don't look towards you, the weird looking rooster explicitly turns away from you when the door opens. To the north is another door, just like the one you got in. Also with a Level 2 door it seems.

With how that one chicken is staring at her, she tosses the Level 2 to Archibald. Doing the chicken equivalent of finger guns with her wings. Then she just walks into the newly opened room.

"Okay, anyone wanting to eat us, sound off!" Scramble calls into the room, as a quick check who to not let out for now.

Enyo is quick to sense a great potential in the room as she enters in the wake of Scramble – a potential for mayhem and destruction. Her kind of potential. The dark chicken crows loudly to get the attention of any that failed to notice Scramble before clearing her superiorly able bird throat. MY FLOCK! THE LUMBERING BEAST HAS GROWN BRAZEN! Scramble seems to get ignored mostly, when he strodes in. There doesn't seem to be an immediate threat. The feathery balls and the Orpington however get immediately closer and proclaim: Food? Food? Food! Dude!

The introverted rooster, doesn't change his stance.

Though when Enyo strolls after and proclaims about a sea of blood, there are several reactions.

The ginormous chicken with the big wings (The Crocosphinx) opens it's giant beak and answers with a heavy droning voice that reverberates in you'e muscle stomachs.

The beak opens, the sea of blood spills forth.
The words that hurt can't cut through the door of freedom, when the door speaks back.
Even the mighty lightning can get cut by the laughter of light.
When you think like you're enemy you may become it.
The herald knows the way out but his words are trecherous and he knows only his belly.
A moment of rest can be found by the golden well.

It seems to adress you. It's majestic wings, scraping on the ground are sullied by dirt.

The balls of feather and the single Orpington are very agitated by your speech. FOOD! FOOD! FOOD! DUUUUDE!

The sceletal bird doesn't seem to react at all... It may not be able to hear you at all.

The timid rooster drapes a weird wing over his eyes and nudges toward you.

"I don't know who did this to me, and I would love to help but I'm more of a danger to all of you than to anyone else. See what I did myself to my flock."

On a more closer inspection the unmoving chicken don't move. They don't breath, they don't try to focus you, they don't make any sound, they are just standing there, not even blinking, unmoving and not living.

The second line of the riddle is interjected with a "Hey!"

Scramble will let that one slide this time, and goes "Okay y'all, I'm going to try and open your cages. You do whatever you want after that, just be cool, alright?"

Going from cage to cage, Scramble finagles with the doors to the best of her ability. She also reaches a wing through the bars of the timid rooster's cage, giving him a consoling pat or two. "Not your fault what they did to you and what happened to them."

    Skill 5 - (1d6)[6]

Sadly, the cages prove a bit too much for Scramble's ability.

Mixed as the reception of her words may have been, Enyo is content. The scaly one speaks pretty words; the brooding one is dangerous; and those four are at least enthusiastic. YES, BLOOD! A FEAST! REVENGE! She'll need to figure the bones out, but this is a start – assuming they can get this lot out of those cages. Her eyes fall on Scramble. what-whAT-WHAT? ARE YOU DOING THERE?! That can't be the right way. Pacing the room, she concentrates her DARK and POWERFUL mind: a tool is waht they need. A shiny, little tool.

Seeing the... creatures with his own eyes was marginally better than seeing them in his mind, but Archibald was still vary of them and stayed behind the others. To keep watch for anything attempting to ambush them, of course. A selfless sacrifice, really.

But just because you stay in the back doesn't mean you can't look ahead, Archibald reasoned and focused his mental attention on the next room.

There is more than one speaking door on you're way to freedom. The key lies forgotten in the coldest belly.

There is no tool to be found and the doors seem pretty sturdy. The timid one hesitantly speaks still covering his eyes, slightly trembling.

"I was called Birch once. I thank you for you're compassion, friends."

He hesitates again before continuing. "I'm not sure how to get out of here, but should you get me out, I think I can at least try to help you. But only if you can make sure that my gaze doesn't fall on you. It's what made my flock the way they are now."

Being rather annoyed with the cage doors, Scramble kicks a lock (not that this does much). "Okay, change of plans: looking for a Level that opens these. Y'all hang tight, we're getting you out of here."

The chicken looks around the room for anything that might open the cages, otherwise checking the door leading north if it can be opened.

Decisions, decisions. Archibald stroked his wattle as he pondered what to do. On one wing, there was the option of using his clearly superior, if currently hypothetical, knowledge to find a way to open the cages. On the other wing, there was using his also clearly superior and already existing knowledge to seek out the safe place he could see in his mind.

Looking towards the whatchamacallit with narrow eyes, Archibald felt a rare burst of... perhaps not quite selflessness, but at least a more altruistic narcissism.

With a sigh, he closed his eyes and focused.

Well it does seem that you're trusty Level 2 does open this door! "Thank you Dr. Anderson for using Animal Storage!" And it seems to open into a pretty long corridor, ending in another door, but somehow in the middle at the right side there seems to be a small irregularity.

When you leave the room through the other door "Thank you Dr. Anderson for using Animal Storage!" The kitchen staff seems to be still knocked out and you can hear no talking off the humans in the next room, because the doors seem to be really good at blocking out sounds.

There is a pretty big cold box but Scramble wings it and somehow get's it open. (not fooled by a regular closing devices!)

There are all kinds of frozen goods that are either packaged in (the peas on this one look really tasty!) Or wrapped with some kind of paper, you can make out some pieces of Poultry there, sadly.

The most distinguishing feature however is a small bird with the head of a small moose who looks up at you and says in quite the rude tone.

Scramble gives the barbaric practice of storing dead chicken the stink-eye, before looking at the furry-headed bird. "Hey, I was told there's a key in the 'coldest belly'. Archibald's eyes opened wide. Even for a psychic vision, this was a weird one. "It's..." He paused, quite literally unable to find neither the words nor his usual smugness. "It's down. Where it's cold. And hot. More monsters. So cold." He took a deep breath. "The key is small, cold, big, rectangular, human...ish..." His words trailed off, not even making sense to Archibald himself.

The moose-headed bird looks quizzical, and thinks for a moment. "No, I haven't found something like that... I have one of these tear-shaped things though."

The weird bird digs around in the various frozen-food-stuffs and gives you a blue tear-shaped thing.

"One of these humans that rummage in here occasionally let it fall in here. I wanted to keep it, and the human was too afraid to retrieve. I don't NEED it though."

"Well if you find a really cold place I would like to be there, I can't get out of this box or I'm gonna melt. Would really appreciate if you closed that thing here."
