I haven't been regularly participating in discussions on GiantITP for the last couple years, but I've been reading and following some things (e.g., the LA Reassignment threads in the 3e subforum). But, I have recently been putting together my first novel, The Land Set Aflame, which is partially inspired by some of the play-by-post D&D games I ran on Myth-Weavers.com, and I thought there might be people in this community who would be interested in seeing it.

In the Kallawlands, everything burns. Prairies, homes, hearts - the wildfires will take it all. Some fires are real. Some are just metaphors. And some are actually alive. The only thing they all have in common is that you can't shoot them with an arrow. So Svenden Moon will have to figure out how to navigate them in some other way.

The story has a lot of romance (not spicy), and a good, old-fashioned fantasy adventure to go with it.

I originally published it on Kindle Vella, but I never felt comfortable trying to monetize it, so I've moved it over to Wattpad.com, where it's completely free to read. If you have an account (also free), you can "vote" for the chapters in my story that you like, and help my story move up in the popularity algorithms.

The story is still ongoing: I post one or two chapters a week, usually on Mondays. Each chapter is about 1000-1500 words. There are currently 25 chapters available to read, and I'm aiming for just under 100 chapters total.

I've posted up through Chapter 29 now. The first real segment of intense action in the story is about to get underway, as the characters make a discovery in the shadowfolk village of Tiirynshix that draws them towards something even bigger. But, they (and by extension, you, the reader) still have no freakin' clue what they're getting themselves into.

An update: I've now posted up through Chapter 43 on The Land Set Aflame, a fantasy adventure/romance novel that was partially inspired by a D&D game I ran at Myth-Weavers.
