For cooking soup for the number of people present, by at least a factor of 10.
Like unless the MitD is showing up Belkar will be throwing out more than 90% of the soup.

I pointed that out too (or rather, that Belkar was making way too much soup), but apparently there are ways (spells) to preserve the leftovers. In which case they can keep eating this five-star soup for a long time.

Also seems like the soup level sank a bit too much already though.
I predict that Belkar will not die evil.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that the people who are not shown to be eating soup are not, in fact, eating soup.

Not at all. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. But that doesn't mean all explanations of a phenomenon are equally likely, or that a theory with no support cannot be criticized for its lack of support. It is possible that the various other characters known to be backstage got soup in between the panels of the last two comics and then left the area so they cannot be observed, but there's no reason to think that did in fact occur.

It's worth remembering that the full volume of a cooking cauldren isn't necessarly used for one thing - instead it was filled with water, boiled, and several things cooked in that water.

Just to be Properly PedanticTM, parsing your language and taking the double negative into account, you do think it's reasonable to think that the people not shown eating soup, did not, in fact, eat soup, and thus that only those shown eating soup, actually ate soup.

Soup, while liquid, is considered a food, not a beverage. You eat foods, you drink beverages.

This opens up a whole can of worms you don't want to see, but since you asked,

Somehow biscuits became cookies in the US while remaining biscuits everywhere else, then some elf put sugar and lard on one, topped it with another cookie, and got rich.

But it would be strange to eat pancakes or flapjacks or hotcakes or griddle cakes or whatever with your morning tea, so the English call them scones.

I think the Americans did it just to annoy King George. And we are not the only ones. Look what the Canadians did with bacon!

So, I will happily bake biscuits, fry bacon, and pour maple syrup on my pan cakes for breakfast, and get my cookies from a Hydrox bag.

I always treat the cook/bake line as whether it has a dough element. Not a perfect distinction but close enough.

EDIT: doy. I just noticed the pun.
