Unless public school lied to me again.
This shouldn't be surprising, but people who use steroids and hit the gym daily tend to do at least basic research into how to work out and tend to talk to others who also work out. They're not just grabbing some pills and going for broke. They're more likely ro injure themselves in the samw way F1 drivers are more likely to get into crashes at high speeds than you are - they're actively engaged in this behavior significantly more than others and push limits.

imean if you were taught "bodybuilders jump grab the heaviest things they can and lltry to lift them with wild abandon", then yeah, and i also wonder why your teachers would be teaching that.

But generally, people who spend most of their time on a hobby, whether that hobby is comic books or star wars or steroid weightlifting, probably know things about that hobby.

I think it's weird that there's never been an X-Men comic that's used Chi (χ) as part of one of the Greek Letter classification systems sed for describing powers.

probably because Chi is also a word for the common fantasy power source for supernatural martial arts, and at least one marvel character we know of uses Chi as a power source: Iron Fist. I'd imagine they wouldn't want to confuse people by introducing that classification for the sake of clarity and simplicity. greek letter Chi is less well known than fantasy martial arts Chi, after all.

But you can write it using the greek letter, and it's no pronounced the same at all. I doubt there's a lot of place for confusion, in either written or spoken media.

    True.

I can only conclude then that they simply don't know about Greek Chi. considering that the most people in the US is unlikely to know any greek letters other than Alpha, Beta and Omega, I can find this completely believable.

Not even Gamma or Delta? Now Epsilon, that's a pretty uncommon one to see. (Also most people probably know π.)

Plus Chi will be mistaken for X.if written in Greek letters, as well as qi if using the anglicised spelling.

Note to self, AW has never been in America.

For reals, though, public parks right off the bat. Public museums, lile all the museums in DC. The public zoo in DC. Just a ton of things in DC, actually, its kind of got an enormous amount of public stuff by virtue of being the capital.

I don't particularly endorse or like it, but that is where the name comes from, similar to public house, you can drink at home, but if some random walked in, you'd probably ask them to leave.

    That's kind of the point.

Xs, crosses, quincunxes, and other variations of that shape are recurring motifs for mutants.

You'd think that since they're using Greek letters for stuff they'd use the one that looks like an X for something.

Maybe give an actual letter to the people classified as "Beyond Omega" since there's clearly a guideline for classifying people as that.

Like... For sure they've used alpha, betta, epsilon, and omega and I've seen unsourced claims that they've used gamma and delta.

Oh, sorry. I forgot that the US hasn't invented it yet.
well anyone pay to get on a bus to get transported to somewhere in my county and a ferry that you also pay to get on that is practically vital to my local communities commute, and are both called public transport, then no we have invented it, but you still have to pay to get on.
