    Default Marvel RPG System-Beginner Advice?

The one that's currently out. I just picked up a copy for 25% off at my local store, and while I don't have time/energy to read it today (work, blech) I'd appreciate anyone who's got experience with it dropping some knowledge on me to wake up to. Helpful primer stuff or other beginner advice.

Which Marvel system; there've been at least two I know of. What year is it from is the easiest way to check, though if it's got big, multi-colored tables at the back, that's the old FASERIP system.

From the OP, it's the one that's currently out, the new one. Marvel Multiverse, designed by Matt Forbeck, published in house.

That's the one. Matt Forbeck is right on the cover, as the author.

I spotted this one at the usual game store, last time I was there. I was a little curious about the hero creation, especially when I happened to see Spider-powers as an option.

Wikipedia has 5: Marvel Super Heroes (1984), normally known as FASERIP, Marvel Super Heroes Adventure Game (1998), Marvel Universe Roleplaying Game (2003), Marvel Heroic Roleplaying (2012), and the newest, Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game.

I'm just now doing a once over. One possible exploit regards a character's starting rank. Certain power sets, such as Omniversal Travel, don't have much in the way of lower rank powers, and so they're better suited for games starting at rank 3+, instead of working up to that.
