Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Mea Culpa!
Luizarius sat atop his tower
and looked down at the rabble
he smiled and thought "Well bring it on!
You don't know what you face!"
"My stairs are trapped, my minions fierce,
you've no chance to defeat me!"
His hubris knew no boundaries
as town started at the base
Oooh-the-lally, ooh-de-lally

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Honestly you're more suspicious to me right now than Persolus. Your behaviour is giving me gut pings and I don't like the wolf stuff, feels like you but also like a double-bluff. But, like, you being a wolf only makes sense if there is a wolf in the top three right now. And if Persolus flips wolf, then it does give us info about you and Snow, I think.
So Persolus. Especially since a wagon on you isn't really viable at this hour.
Aside from that, I would kill Taffi in the top three. I really don't like the Cazero or Meta wagons.Last edited by Let'sGetKraken; 2023-09-03 at 09:43 AM.

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't really like it coming down to a tie, it feels like it makes it even tougher to deduce everyone's actions in retrospect. That said, I don't really feel like moving my vote either. I still townread Meta and I feel like blade's reason for Persolus are better than mine for Taff (not to mention that me voting Taff would probably just make Snow vote Meta and it'd remain a tie
).

I'm really tempted to vote myself and make this a four way tie, but all things considered, I think I'm going to abstain.

Taffi's songs were innocent
she just wanted to be there
when heroes did their questing thing
and faced Luizarius' guile
But when the village turned on her
she cursed them with her singing
"I'll watch you from my Master's place
and as you die I'll smile!"
Oooh-the-lally, ooh-de-lally
As you all die I'll smile!
(Thanks Taffi for the Song)
Taffi was a Wizard's Disciple - Wolf
End of the Day: The lantern is a magical item. When activated, it emanates a low yellow dancing light. It lights the path on the level and the stairs on the other side of the room. The lantern Holder is the first person entering a level to illuminate the way. It may bring good luck or bad luck when entering a level. You never know which. The lantern is very hot and strangely drains your energy, so you can’t carry it for more than one level in a row.
Everybody wants to take a peek at the lantern during the Night 1/Stairs 1, so there will always be a pair of eyes on Let'sGetKraken.
Game Mechanic: Let'sGetKraken can’t be targeted tonight/ on the first stairs by night actions
The night 1/ Stairs 1 starts now
It will last for 24 hours

Welp, apologies for that. Well played Taffimai, and commiserations on how hard you'll find it to get me to townread you next time (especially if you are in fact town that game).
I'm going to throw all my reads away and start again (she says, as if she had reads worth speaking of).I'm writing stuff, come and read it!

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Right, have skimmed through Taffimai ISO, it's a pain formatting stuff on mobile but short version: town points to Meta and to a lesser extent Jeen and Illven, there was an interaction with Athedia that could have been partner-y or just trying to pocket the newbie, and...
My mind immediately jumps to "Taffimai/Persolus w/w?" both because she could have saved herself by voting Persolus and chose not to and because of her reaction to bladescape's proposal of a Persolus wagon (let me go quote that).
- - - Updated - - -
The relevant reaction:
It's hard to put into words but I feel like this is the way a wolf reacts to sudden suspicion of a partner for unexplained reasons.
In terms of people's interactions with Taffimai the first thought that comes to mind is Illven is probably clear, I don't think bussing is likely for her and it certainly wasn't a forced move.
Town pile so far: Illven, Meta, Cazero, Jeen in approximate order of confidence.
Null and probably going to remain that way: flat_footed, Book Wombat, AvatarVecna, MayanStar, Olive_Sophia, Benoojian
Below null: Persolus
To sort: bladescape, CaoimhinTheCape, Batcathat, Let'sGetKraken, Athedia
Yup, those numbers work out. The null pile is too large but I don't think I can do anything about it given why people are there. Might be worth wagoning a couple of names from there and seeing what happens tomorrow.I'm writing stuff, come and read it!

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
…
Did we just defenestrate a bird?
On a more serious note, Persolus being the first to vote Taff and not moving afterwards; and Blade building a surprise wagon on him with Taff on it in the endgame might be worth looking into later. At any rate, Taff's insistence on letting the tie resolve randonly might be telling. Maybe she trusted the 66% chance to hit Town?

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
If 2 wolves were on the docket, being cool with the other wolf wagon is a good way to gain towncred. I don't see a strong reason to think Persolus or Meta Town from Taffimai's latest actions. Though that no other wagon got a strong lead probably means something, I haven't the time to think through what nor is Night the time to mention it even if I had a solidified thought.
Kraken is Town and can't be targeted tonight. That's awesome.
We could've stayed on Meta no issue or heat, but didn't. Well, unless the wolves are Kraken/Meta/Taffimai, but I think that's... well, a big coincidence? Just unlikely.
I'll be relatively inactive the first part of D2, but should be active the second half.

@Luizeu: if a wolf with a power dies, do we get to know what their Night action power is?
In other words: was Taffimai a "vanilla" wolf, or we just don't get to know her power, or if vanilla/powered?
I'm assuming at least some wolves have a night power they can use akin to a Townie, plus the wolves have a Night Kill.

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Ok that was a mildly terrifying set of posts to read through. I would like to say for the record that I am town, genuinely randed Taffi, and that i am very glad i didn't die d1.
[also for the record Illven no i have not been culted, i started being absent *before* I was culted.]

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Feeling surrounded by new people is not necessarily a bad thing.
In a manner of speaking, coming to a new town can be quite overwhelming at times, though I am enjoying it so far.
As for the question surrounding my vote, I tried to analyze whatever had already been said, so I could come to a fair conclusion while still using a bit of RP in the middle of it.

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Not 100% what null means but assuming it means unknown. Not going to try to sway you one way or the other regarding me since that seems pointless at this moment but I still would appreciate the chance.
Book Wombat (apparently my phone hates that word it took 4 tries to type) did vote for Taff being the lantern holder as well as voting with Taff to have Meta come toward the top of the votes. I dunno, just seems like a good idea to keep an eye on them.
Honestly my interactions with you kinda made me suspect wolf since it felt a bit aggressive, but I really don't know how you play wolf or town so, mostly setting that aside for now.
For now I think we got lucky the first day. I personally don't think the wolves would harm their numbers D1 since it does put them on a back foot. And they don't have the numbers to support two wagons (plus it would be a pretty risky strat). I think they gambled on getting enough to get Meta in lead or at least increase the chances that a town was yeeted.
Also... We didn't just defenestrate a bird... We did it out the first floor....Moved my stuff over to HERE!

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
The irony of being townread for hard-defending a wolf is amusing (even if that's not necessarily what bladescape is clearing me for).
Persolus, any reads you'd like to share?
Athedia, yes, null means unsure or just "I don't have any particular thoughts about their alignment". I'll have a look at the Wombat stuff you referenced.
Jeen, that's a good point on Kraken, though I don't think it's enough to hard clear him (depends on how wagonomics work out).

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
Yeah, I don't know about blade, but I definitely townread you over it (of course, you might do it as a wolf specifically for that reaction, but that way lies madness and infinite WIFOM spirals
). It doesn't hurt that my one reason to potentially wolfread you doesn't really make sense (if it ever did) in light of Taff's flip.
It's weird and I'd like to know more, but I'm not sure it actually is that suspicious, considering Taff presumably wouldn't reveal anything real about her wolf buddies in song. So, maybe she accidentally stumbled onto a neutral wincon or something? The most likely answer is probably that Benoojian was making a joke, but of course that's also a very convenient cover, so I don't know.

Re: The Wizard's Tower by Luizeu
I'll take answers 2 and 3 to go please, It was uncomfortably close to something about my role and I was trying to get more information through a joke, not realizing that Taffi was already dead and actually one of the apprentices, because I thought the day ended at noon.
