Link to a post from a Closed thread?
Is there an easy way to link to a post in a Closed thread? Normally I hit the Quote button, type some nonsense, then hit the Preview Post button which gives me a link to the original post I can right-click on to get the url which I can then paste into my post.
But if the thread's been Closed, I can't Reply with Quote, so I can't get the link to, say, Red Fel's reply here, just as a generic, non-specific example.
Is there way to do this in closed threads? Is there an easier way to do this in open threads?Warhammer 40,000 Campaign Skirmish Game: Warpstrike

Re: Link to a post from a Closed thread?
The Mod Ogre: In the upper right corner of any post, there is a number; My post will read "Spoilers - Top - End - #2" unless we have ninjas. Clicking on that number will take you to a page that includes only that post. For example, click here.
That should take you to your original post in this thread. Given that I've been a mod for years and some of my stuff works differently, this might not work for you in a closed thread; I didn't know it when I was a regular user, so I don't know, and if I did, I'd have forgotten it by now, because I am so, so, so very old.Last edited by LibraryOgre; 2023-09-09 at 02:38 PM.

Re: Link to a post from a Closed thread?
One thing to add - if you want to link to that specific post (as per LibraryOgre's instructions) but still have the rest of the thread/surrounding posts for context, the link on the top right of that page ("View Single Post") will take you back to the that specific post within the broader thread.
For example, this link will take you to the same post as LibraryOgre's link, but will do so in the thread as a whole rather than the "Single Post" view.Plague Doctor by Crimmy
