Re: Isle of Chaos
End Night Four.
Flavour and feedback will be a while, as per my message in the Discord.
- - - Updated - - -
There are many mysterious notes pinned to the noticeboard today:
The answer to the spirit's question is yes no yes no maybe error contradiction please resolve before - PROCESS MANUALLY TERMINATED. DON'T MEDDLE WITH PARADOX.The spirits are totally fine, these messages are all true. The Magic Word has been said.
Countdown has started.
To cancel countdown, please say the Magic Word again. He was dead, you saw him die. Again. But just like every previous time, a few days later he was spotted tending to his garden.
It wasn't long before someone asked him something.
Do you have any thoughts?
The figure looks up, and sighs.
I'm done with this whole mess. I've died, which was my whole point to not do. I've lost, and now I'm with the spirits.
But I will say this. How long has Snow had to swap roles with someone else? That role has been passed around a lot I guess.
And with that, he goes back to gardening, ignoring any further questions.
AvatarVecna has died. They were a Vote Manipulator.
Spoiler: AvatarVecna's role PM
AvatarVecna, you are a Vote Manipulator. You win if you twice change the result of the elimination using your powers. You have the following powers:
Silence: Each night phase, you may target a living player. Their vote the next day will not be counted.
Boost: Each night phase, you may target a living player. Their vote the next day will count as two votes.
Confuse: Each night phase, you may target a living player. Their vote the next day will count as a vote for another living player of your choice (you make this choice during the day phase).
You may not use more than one of the above powers in the same night phase.
From Beyond: You may vote while dead. Please submit such votes to me in your Discord channel.
The effects of these powers will not be shown in the End of Day vote counts I will provide.
In the blacksmith's forge, a worse tragedy has unfolded. It appears that the blacksmith had invited her lover, the gardener, to spend the night for comfort and protection. And it appears that they did little to protect each other when the axe murderer came calling. The gardener tried to shield the blacksmith with his body and succeeded only in sealing his own fate; the blacksmith fell shortly after.
In death, she has reverted to her true form: that of a small grey wolf, the baker's blood still streaked on her muzzle.
Athedia has died. She was a Lost Wolf.
Spoiler: Athedia's role PM
Athedia, you are a Lost Wolf. You win when wolves outnumber town and all other hostile factions have been eliminated, or when nothing can prevent this from happening. You have the following powers:
Seeking the Pack: each night phase, you may target a living player. You will be told whether or not they are a wolf. If they are a wolf, you will be added to the wolves' Discord channel.
Fang and Claw: each night phase, you may target a living player. If there is no successful wolves' factional kill, that player will die, even if they are a wolf. You will lose access to this power if and when you join the wolves' Discord channel.
You may use both of these actions in the same night phase, though please make sure it's clear which player is the target of which action.
Tough Hide (passive): the first time you would die at night, you do not. This will not be announced.
Good luck and have fun!
Luizeu has died. He was a Virus Spreader.
Spoiler: Luizeu's role PM
Luizeu, you are a Virus Spreader. You win when every living player has the status effect "Infected". You have the following powers:
Diseased (passive): you begin the game with the status effect "Infected". All players with the status effect "Infected" will give the status effect "Infected" to any players they target with night actions.
Infect: each night phase, you may target a player. This will do nothing to them except as a result of the above power.
Good luck and have fun!
The Interim Mayor stalks alone through the streets of Chaos to the village green where they had met for so long. He's smiling to himself, and his axe is coated with blood. He falls to his knees on the green, where the podium once stood. "You wanted blood," he declares to the spirits, "and I have given it to you!"
And the spirits hear him, and are pleased. They rush to him, lending him their power and their immortality, giving him everything that they are. Until he is no longer human, but one of them, a dreadful creature of the forest. He runs into the woods, heedless of any danger - for what danger can there be when he is truly one with Chaos?
It is now impossible to prevent Cazero the Serial Killer from winning. The game is over, and Cazero has won.
Spoiler: Cazero's role PM
Cazero, you are a Serial Killer. You win when you are the only player alive, or nothing can prevent this from happening. You have the following powers:
Murder: each night, target one living player with a guess of their win condition. If that guess is correct, that player will die, regardless of whether they are protected by any means. I won't demand precise wording, as long as you have the general sense I'll accept it.
Kill: each night, target one living player. That player will die unless they are protected.
You may not use both of the above actions in the same night.
Survive (passive): the first time you would otherwise die, you will not die. If you would otherwise be eliminated, it will be announced that no-one was eliminated.
Good luck and have fun!
But he has not quite destroyed the village. The artist steps out from the mayor's house, where she was hiding. No-one sensible would hide in the place where the touch of the spirits was first felt. She is alone.
But while she lives, so does the village of Chaos. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out the former mayor's chain of office, which she found left in her desk drawer. "More people will come," she says to the spirits, who are surely listening. "They will come fleeing the lives they had, as they always do. And when they do? They will have me here to lead them."
And she slips the chain around her neck.
Thun survived and won. She was the Mayor of Chaos.
Spoiler: Thun's role PM
Thun, you are now the Mayor of Chaos. You win if you are alive at the end of the game. You have the following powers:
Some Semblance of Narrator Objectivity (passive): all of your votes and night actions will be chosen at random.
Victim of the Spirits (passive): you will die at the end of Night Zero. Nothing can prevent this.
Not Quite Dead (passive): while dead, you may still use and be targeted by night actions, even if the actions state they can only target living players.
Mark: each night phase, you may target a living player and give them the status effect "Marked". Players will be informed that they have this status effect, but not what it does.
Sacrificial Ritual: once per game, during the night phase, when there are at least three living Marked players, you may activate the ritual; this will result in your resurrection and the death of all Marked players, regardless of whether they are protected.
Good luck and have fun!
Snowblaze has lost. She was a Switcher.
Spoiler: Snowblaze's role PM
Snowblaze, you are now a Switcher. You cannot win. You lose when the game ends. You have the following power:
Switch: Each night phase, you may target a living player. You will receive their role, alignment and win condition, and they will become a Switcher. If they are in the wolves' Discord channel, they will die as a Switcher.
You will receive links to any communications outside the main thread that they are part of due to their role, but you will not receive any information they gained, or learn how they used their powers. You will also not gain any items or status effects they possess. If they die through other means on the same night that you target them, they will die as their original role and you will remain a Switcher.
Good luck and have fun!
bladescape has lost. Caedorus has lost. Aleph Null has lost. Persolus has lost. Xihirli has lost. AvatarVecna has lost. Luizeu has lost. Athedia has lost.
Congratulations to the winners: JeenLeen, Book Wombat, flat_footed, Thun and Cazero!

Re: Isle of Chaos
Luizeu, did you mean to hint that you were the Virus Spreader by speech of spreading truth D1?
Also, was there just 1 wolf, then? And they had a power to find wolves that didn't exist?

Re: Isle of Chaos
All right, my admin channels + deadchat + wolfchat (yes, really) have been released. Those + flips should explain most things. A few notes for things that may not be so clear:
- AV was resurrected because I decided the D1 elimination would be passively resurrected after a number of phases equal to the number of votes they got to try and counteract the getting screwed out of playing + being hard to impossible for most roles to win while dead. It being AV was just added awesomeness!
- the plan was for each Serial Killer to poison one of the Potions so a random drinker of the poisoned Potions would die at the end of D3... only then both poisoned the Potion of Health and Caedorus was the only one to drink it. So I decided the logical way to resolve that was to instantly kill him and screw over Wombat in the process. Though Wombat at least won anyway!
- the Police Officer was a role that ended up being unused, but I wrote the start of game flavour before realising it wouldn't end up in play. So I decided having him secretly be the serial killer would be a great plot twist!
- - - Updated - - -
Luizeu, I am really sorry you got screwed over. Here's how:
a) Jeen cured you N1, so you lost the Infected status effect.
b) ...and you Infected a dead player (me). I could have still spread the Infection from beyond the grave, except...
c) Thun Switched with me, meaning I could no longer use night actions while dead.
I let you stay in the game despite being that screwed because there were two ways you could still win: one was if the game ended with no-one alive then I'd invoke vacuous truth on your win condition (see comments on that in deadchat), and the other was that Batcathat could give players random status effects, and one of those might restart the Infection... and Batcathat did re-Infect you... Night Four, when you died and also the game ended.
So yeah, sorry, hope you had fun regardless!I'm writing stuff, come and read it!

Re: Isle of Chaos
Yup!
It's not your fault you died. Cazero had a one-shot death immunity he hadn't used. The tie did actually end up being resolved for No Elimination, so if you'd voted him then you and Luizeu still would have died N4 but game wouldn't have ended since Cazero could have been killed D5 by a combination of Thun and AV's dead-vote.
:D

Other remarks:
- I think Athedia played really well for her first wolf game without any help from partners. I was really enjoying reading her manipulation of Luizeu.
- I loved Book Wombat's Chaotic plays and blatant lies, even if they didn't actually help him (the lack of elimination D2 was because of Persolus's immunity rather than Wombat's self-rescue. It was somewhat amusing having a tie where either option resulted in no-one dying.)I'm writing stuff, come and read it!
