After Sigrún has visited the Smithy about that weapon she would like she wanders to the inn just in time to see Netish get dragged around by Lonnie.

"Bit of an odd sight, that," she quietly chuckles to herself, and follows them inside.

Netish looks and waves at the first person she sees looking in her direction.

At that moment Smelkie walks in. He waves back to Netish and walks up. "Thanks for the wave, but I would have spotted you regardless" he says while his head tilts up every step he takes.

"Wow, that was some nasty smelling cave back there. I wonder who this so-called king is." He quite obviously didnt mention the word Spider-King to not raise any suspicion. "What did you find in that chest Sigrùn?

Maria will order some beef stew and mint tea. She looks around the room discreetly and asks the serving wench, "So are there any interesting rumors or gossip around heres of late?"

The bar maid looks over her shoulder, towards the innkeeper and his wife now in conversation with Sildar, before looking back to Maria Trilena says it ain't proper talk for dinner time, but rumor has it our local woodcarver Thel Dendrar was murdered by the Redbrands. He up and disappeared after a fight with one who leered at his wife and some say they saw his wife and kids being taken by the ruffians. No one knows where they stay, but they almost always drink at The Sleeping Giant. Mr. Toblin won't let them in here

An older man at the bar starts up at the name and turns towards you. Based on the layer of dirt covering him and the pickaxe leaning by his seat, you'd guess he's one of the local miners who has come into town to spend whatever gold he's found The Redbrands? They're thugs and ruffians they are! Townmaster won't do a thing about 'em!

As you say this, Sildar steps over to you I hope I heard correctly, because from what I can gather my missing wizard is also likely the fault of the Redbrands he sighs and pulls up a chair If he's still alive, he's somewhere in town, but no one seems to know where they've established themselves

Sildar nods in agreement I'll pick up new arms tomorrow morning from the coster and meet anyone coming on the town green. We can walk to the taphouse together. Sildar looks to Maria I know you want to go after Gundren, lass, so I won't blame you if you take what companions will go after him, but I promise to do what I can to help once I've run this thing down. And I know I'd feel a lot better if we had a wizard at our back he bids you all a good evening and heads off early to sleep off his bruises. Your food arrives shortly and you're all left to discuss amongst yourselves your next steps or head in for the night

Maria would be interested in the missing mage but for her worried about her mentor and friend Gundrenn. But since she could not do it alone she had to follow along with the party. So instead she finishes dinner and heads up to her room to sleep so she can get up early and get to the botton of things with her new friends.

To Sildar "Is there a link between your wizards disappearance and Gundrenn's as far as you know. I'd like to know what Im getting myself involved in, since that cave was a near dead experience for me. Would rather not have that happen again. I do feel like the search for your guy is less hazardous though. Count me in"

Smelkie drops coin on the table to pay for his food and makes his way to the barkeep to secure a room of his own.

The next morning you join Sildar on the village green. He's obtained a sword, ring mail, and a shield. Good morning he says, smiling in spite of still being covered in bruises Let's go have a chat with these Redbrands, shall we? It's a short walk to the east side of town. You can see the abandoned manor house on the hill, as well as several rundown and empty buildings from Phandalin's past. The only one you see currently in operation is a dingy, squat taphouse whose sign bears the image of a giant napping in the middle of a forest road and a distressed traveler trying to find a way around Looks like the place

We start with talking, but swords might get involved if they don't like our questions Sildar taps the top of his longsword If we're all ready, we can proceed inside. Don't group up all at once, take a moment to order a drink or something. We don't want these brigands suspecting why we're here and running

Netish doesn’t seem to understand much of why they are talking about how to talk to people. From what she learned last night, you just talk to them.

But then she understands that this time, the talking is going to be lying. And then she has an idea.

"Thats not going to be me" Smelkie says in reply to Netish. "I am going in, like Sildar said dont group up to much." Without hesitation Smelkie steps inside and walks up to preferably a corner space at or near the bar, so he can order a drink and have a good overview of the inside of the place.

"Err... What?" Lonnie asks. "I'm just gonna go in! Maybe they're gonna be nice!"

She walks in with a cheery (if somewhat ditzy) smile and finds a stool at the bar. "Got any apple juice?" she asks whoever's behind the bar.
