Empire Empire Empire Edition
Well, I was reading the recent 4th Edition news on Enworld and it turns out that the "standard" races in the player's handbook automatically come with fluff of a number of ancient fallen empires. Of course, having an ancient civilization that no longer exists is a common trope in fantasy books, but D&D will now have three by default... dragonborn, giants and tieflings all get to be ex-imperial, plus the elves have a shattered nation, and the halflings have a trade network that is also called an empire. Funny, that.

Re: Empire Empire Empire Edition
Dear god. They REALLY serious about going through a sort of apocalypse to switch editions. We're going to end with a dumber Warhammer (Because it's likely the first modules will have a gritty atmos)!
