    Vidrik aims his shot perfectly at the skeleton's body, only to watch the crossbow bolt pass between the ribcage and pelvis, hitting nothing but air on its way through.

    Chloe burns one of the oncoming zombies, and her animated servant damages the skeleton in front of Sabian.

    The zombies advance forward, one walking onto the spikes, and another through the flames. The skeletal spellcaster behind advances, casting another spell. Grains of sand fall to the floor. Mustafar falls asleep, slowly dropping to the floor.

    Z2 is only prevented from reaching your line because Spike Growth is difficult terrain.

    SH casts Sleep. He's 90' away, but it has a 20' radius.

    Now that the other skeleton mage is within range, Cassandra cracks the Vampire Killer and shoots a bolt of flame towards it. "Someone needs to help Mustafa. If this keeps up he won't make it."

    Turning her attention to the skeletons ahead, she says "Spells like this require intense concentration," referring to the spikes surrounding them, "So let's see if we can break it. Can anyone else hit it from here?"

Next thing he noticed was Sabian's face waking him up, and the sudden feeling of having his body laying against the wall, completely vulnerable. He jumped to his feet and raised his holy symbol only partly aware of his surroundings

    Sabian shakes Mustafar awake. Cassandra launches a Fire Bolt at the enemy spellcaster, but misses, merely scorching stone. Mustafar stands up and swings his holy symbol in a wide arc that hits nothing. His Sanctuary spell went away when he fell asleep.

    The nearby skeleton attacks Sabian, but merely finds armor. Down the hall, the other three skeletons move closer and unleash more arrows that clatter against the stonework.

    Vidrik doesn't have an answer for Sabian right now. We can't advance or retreat while the spikes are up. But hopefully the spikes injure the zombies as they approach.

    Vidrik's heavy bolt shatters the skull of the skeleton in front of Sabian, and continues on down the hallway in a course that must have been blessed by Pelor, beheading two more zombies before cracking bones on the enemy spellcaster. The spikes fade away into the floor.

    Chloe tosses acid on the nearby zombie, then runs past it to the alchemy lab as her homonculus fires a bolt of magic at it.
    The undead, recently-made, follows after her and attacks again.
    The other zombies follow, one managing to step past the flames in the hall.

    The spellcasting skeleton approaches, and casts another spell. A cloud of horrendously smelly gas comes into existence, obscuring vision.

    Sabian ignores the smell and charges in, attacking one of the zombies. (note: houserule 22 means it's made with disadvantage as both of you are flailing around blind; still hits). Cassandra runs towards the lab, but is blocked by one of the zombies, which she nearly runs in to. Mustafar holds his position as he tries to deal with the overwhelming stench.

    The skeletons down the hall all launch arrows at where they think the fleshy humans are. One arrow almost scores a lucky hit on the half-orc.

    Vidrik manages to hit the moaning zombie, despite not being able to see it. His bolt travels down the hall and injures the skeleton spellcaster, although he can't see that either. Chloe splashes the zombie with acid, and her homonculus strikes it with a bolt of magic. She steps out of the cloud.

    Vidrik hears zombies reaching the stairs on the second floor. With the noise of battle, it's likely they will be on him shortly.

    The zombies on the first floor do what zombies do, but can't get past Sabian's or Chloe's armor. The skeletal spellcaster sends another spell at the party, and Mustafar falls asleep again.

    Hearing a thud and realising the skeleton once again tried to put her to sleep, Cassandra knows Mustafar must have fallen under the spell once again. She shakes him awake and playfully chides him "I know it has been a long day but this really isn't the place for a nap."

    She then disappears from his view and calls out "Quick! In here!" before diving through the doorway and trying to get out of the cloud obscuring her vision. She runs straight into the wall on the other side of the room and then, hearing the zombie nearby, she finally exits the cloud and sees Chloe.

    "Fancy meeting you here."

    Sabian scores a hit on the zombie, cutting through muscle, but not a killing blow on the previously-uninjured undead. Cassandra awakens Mustafar, who coughs and cautiously moves inside the room (dodge action since no post).

    The three skeletons fire arrows at Sabian as they advance, nimbly bypassing the bonfire.

    Vidrik rushes down the stairs (difficult terrain), firing a shot at the bottom. The heavy stake goes through the chest and upper spine of the zombie in front of him, and continues on to shatter the lower backbone of another skeleton down the hall (Z5, S6 destroyed).

    Chloe's acid hisses and bubbles, but the zombie doesn't go down (Undead fortitude saved). It lurches out of the cloud and tries to bring her down. The other zombie in front of Sabian tries to knock him over unsuccessfully. Other zombies begin coming down the stairs clumsily, and a ray of cold reaches out at Sabian, but doesn't come particularly close.

    Cassandra kills the last zombie in the room. With the door shut, you have a moment or two to breathe, although the description is more figurative than not, as a quarter of the room is still full of noxious gas, albeit a lighter colored gas than what you saw seeping out of the barracks when you first descended the stair (Arcana check to know the difference).

    You hear zombies banging on the door, but it's not until the skeletons arrive that you have foes that will consider opening it.

    => Everyone gets 2 rounds of actions
    It's normally 2 minutes to loot a room, but Chloe was here earlier and knows where the potions are, so she can shovel them into her Bag of Holding within this time. Inspecting the room for anything else will take more time than you have before battle starts.

    Cassandra rushes over to the door leading into the great hall. It's sturdily made and designed to prevent fumes from leaking out, but there's no disguising the noises and rumbles she hears.

    You hear the thuds and scraping of a huge creature moving around on the stone floor, followed by a rumbling yet high pitched voice with a hollow echo:
    "Someone's behind that door."

    Draconic Frightful presence, Wis DC 19 or frightened for 1 minute, repeating the save at the end of each turn.
    Ad hoc advantage on your save since you can't see it.

    Notes:
    You don't have languages filled in on your sheet, but wizards normally speak Draconic so whether she's speaking in Common or Draconic, you'd understand it, and dragon voices reverberate and carry.
    Frightful presence is, in combat statblocks, something that the dragon "uses" for free every round, but it's not really something the dragon switches on or off... it's just always on because it's a big terrifying dragon.
