mounted duskblade
Could you play a duskblade take the feat obtain familiar, then use the variant to change the familiar into a animal companion eventually being able to summon a giant eagle.

Re: mounted duskblade
Or, for a much easier solution, use the Wild Cohort feat found on the WotC website, and then see what level you could trade out that cohort for a Giant Eagle. I'd say it's probably a good one for 7th level Druid, so 10th level would be a fair trade for you.

Re: mounted duskblade
Well one other thing just as a side note. If you play a mounted Duskblade you need to take the Sabre. It grants a +1 att when used while mounted.

Re: mounted duskblade
Obtain Familiar/Improved Familiar is also a valid combination (I know Hippogryphs, at least, are on the list), although it wouldn't be as strong as an animal companion.
