Joining BB in the bad news game, Grandma Keltest passed away last night after a fall. She had a long, long battle against memory loss, so most of us said our goodbyes a long time ago, but it still hurts to actually hear the message.

Yeah, I get that. Great Grandma was madder than a hatter when she had that last stroke but the news still hit like a truck.

    You have my sincerest condolences.

Ouch, the same thing happened to AnonymousGrandad a couple of years ago. It stings to not only see the person go but also to have the final confirmation that they'll never return.

It makes sense, for all its flaws MEA has the twin draws of:
-Trying to mix together the good bits of the first two games
-Being a pretty decent attempt at emulating the feel of Star Trek. It even has an antiSpock/antiData in Jaal

I agree about tearing down the pillars but I don't see why people would then still need to define themselves. Like, you're still checking a box, or at best writing something in, when ultimately that line doesn't really nedd to be on the forms (etc; society in general) at all. Isn't the point of tearing down the pillars to bring the whole edifice down?

So my latest pair of headphones started going out after what feels like just a few weeks, which had me ticked, but after playing around wth temporary fixes as I always do I realized that this time there was a definitive cause: The little rubber/latest thingy in the whole where he cord goes into the actual headphone part was coming loose and sagging and that was pulling on a wire. Pushing it back into place would fix the issue, but any sudden movement or being positioned badly would make it loose again.

After a bit of experimentation, I was able to fix the issue with electrical tape. The seal is holding, works good as new regardless of position or movement.

I'm not saying the underlayong traits would be gone but there seems to be an implicit assumption that we'd think about them and make a big deal about them and bundle them together even without societal inertia telling us to. Just because a trait exists doesn't mean that you think about it; you don't think about your blood type, do you?

Anyone remember a D&D horror story from years ago around here? Specifically the one where the group turns out to have been rerunning the exact same campaign over and over for years and doesn't react well to the new player going off the script they didn't know about. Trying to find it but my search only turned up Lanky's one with the potion and the home invasion.

That the one where they kept restarting every times player left? I distinctly remember that, particularly because it meant the players were already incredibly attached to one NPC.

That's a really interesting insular social dynamic. Sometimes these dynamics are benign ("Everyone in the family has a cute nickname based on an animal!") and sometimes they are deadly ("Let's sacrifice outselves to the space god!"). I guess this one was just mostly unpleasant for the outsiders. And probably for the insiders, too, who were constantly frustrated by the outsiders' social violations.

Probably the most gripping of these dynamics are cults or folie ŕ deux. But we're all subject to less extreme manifestations.

Rate'rs improvised "its the end of the month and their ain't no food in the house" pizza soup.

Step 1: Cook can of condenced tomato soup as per instructions.

Step 2: As it's simmering, stir in black pepper, table salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and just a little bit of lemon pepper, to taste bu go generous on the garlic, onion, and Italian.

Step 3: When soup is done and portioned into bowls, add in a handful or two of thick shredded mozzarella cheese, stir till it partially melts.

End result: Soup tastes like a cheese pizza.

gaaarragh, I accidentally saved over my Pokemon Rocket edition Romhack and lost all my progress right when it was getting interesting and I'm frustrated now. so I went and start Pokemon Dark Kaizo Rising romhack instead, and its going well so far? maybe I don't know the rules I'm supposed to play it with but I seem to doing well just playing normally on it.

also I'm trying to get myself to write stuff more and convince myself its okay to write badly as long as I get the words out, because my own perfectionism seems to be the problem more than anything thats stopping me.

also I've discovered the scott pilgrim art style and I'm thinking of switching over to that since its so simple and clean yet so good, and good compromise between the OOTS style I have now and trying to full anime. I'm also looking into trying to trying to draw landscapes and backgrounds.
I'm also on discord as "raziere".

I mean, this is more fanfiction, although I have tried my hand at erotic rules for D&D (multiple times, sometimes going into too much detail). This stemmed from an idea about a trans paladin sleeping with the Innkeep's daughter, who doesn't catch them because they're watching the (asexual) bard, and is now ballooning to include a half-orc wizard and an actual quest.

A friend is telling me to write it, despite how bad it'll be.

Me: Writes 4500+ word chapter of fanfic.

Initial reactions: Focus on the very end of the chapter and how cute it is.

More broad reactions came in over time, but it's good to know what reader's priorities are.

    A) When they are overdone and overplayed yes.

    B) There is a big difference between a lot of subcategories of things within categories, but that doesn't change anything for anyone. As a transgender lesbian, I don't see how "tearing down the pillars" would be beneficial to me, especially since if your allowing people to identify their gender as they see fit, the most probable outcome is that most people will simply put those pillars back up again, since most people don't think about this as much as you or I. that and the subculture seems well into already just allowing that already for the people for whom it is relevant given that I don't technically know what those three terms even mean.
I'm also on discord as "raziere".

Oh heck people are actually responding to your work? That's rad, that never happened with me- at least with fanfic and recent works! Happy for you bud.

It helps that I primarily post in the creative writing section of a forum, which naturally invites feedback. FFN and more recently AO3 are more backups though I do get reviews in both places...

Sort of. It varies from story to story. Some premises get more attention than others.

Also, a kind internet stranger or two have made trope pages for some of my stories, which helps a tad I suppose. Here's the one for my most recent story which, naturally, is the main focus of my writing right now.
I also answer to Bookmark and Shadow Claw.

I was also posting fanfic in a place dedicated to The Thing The Fanfic Was About, and no one cared, so take this as proof that you're just a good writer since people are actually acknowledging it.
