    At last, you're pretty sure you've found her - Shuraya the Plague. The old woman has ruled the countryside for hundreds of miles by her whim for two hundred years, chasing off or striking down those who farm too much, those who hunt too much, or those who simply need to pass through in large numbers.

    If she has friends that walk on two legs, they're a mystery to the rest of the world. Her face is known through drawings and tales.

    You, however, cannot see her face... but you can see a giant cloud of swarming insects, some 60' across, ahead of you. This is one of her trademarks - she attacks from within a buzzing cloud of flies, wasps, locusts and beetles. She's probably in the middle of it.

    She is 300' away. Between you and her position atop a hill are scattered trees and boulders.

    Lanius moves back and away, aiming three shots from behind cover. It seems his target can still see him, though.

    Hyra moves forward and to the left. The cloud of bugs seems to surround your target, so moving to the side doesn't give you a better view. Her Celestial fires three arrows, but none seem to score a hit.

    Jessica moves forward, keeping pace with Hyra.

    The air around you is suddenly filled with a harsh buzzing, as insects appear out of nowhere and swarm around you.

    Lanius is approximately 350' away
    Hyra and Jessica are approximately 240' away, Merry 10' fartehr than that.
    The area inside the Insect Plague is difficult terrain. It's centered just left of Jessica, to the right of Hyra; Merry is at the bottom right corner if the map is oriented with the druid at the top.
    If you cannot see the druid (heavily obscured) and there's a cloud of loud buzzing bugs, I'm not sure it's possible to determine what square she's in for attacking. Open to discussion on this.

    Hyra finds the insects irritating, but nothing more. She strides ever onwards, pushing her small dwarf legs as hard as they can go. Her Celestial continues its radiant bow assault from on high.

    Merry teleports forward, bringing Jessica along.

    Hyra dashes forward. Her Celestial also moves forward, outpacing her as its glowing wings beat majestically.

    Jessica attempts to disrupt the swarm of insects in front of her. It works, making their foe, a wizened elven woman, visible.

    It's an effect from an item, not a spell. RAW and per Jeremy Crawford, Dispel magic only impacts spells, but this is silly. Reading the text of the effect, it appears to be equivalent to a 2nd or 3rd level spell.

    The swarm of insects in the distance winks out, now that nobody is inside it. As she moves back, the elf flings her hands into the air. The grasses animate and begin to whip back and forth, making it hard to walk. The trees and bushes start to flail about, slashing at Jessica. Vines grow around her, and a boulder launches itself towards her.

    Lanius felt a bit bad, leaving his companions to face a spellcaster called The Plague in close combat, but he felt reasonable sure that that was exactly how the many other heroes died who accosted her before. So he instead fired at her from a distance and hid again.

    There was scant else for Hyra to do but keep running as fast as she could. Would that she had been born a goliath or something similarly long-legged, but alas, she made up for it with raw stamina and grit.

    Merry appears to solidify again next to Jessica and once again he takes her arm, disdainful of the terrain he finds them in. "Your carriage awaits, mum," he says, and they disappear briefly and reappear next to The Plague herself, now that she is a visible destination.

    The Plague gets a curt nod of acknowledgement from Merry, as is customary between elves. "Apologies for disturbing you. But we need you to stop."     Merry teleports Jessica next to the druid, then blinks out of existence again.
    Hyra dashes forward. Her celestial flies forward, but the Druid's armor and shield shift and twich, allowing the old elf to deflect the radiant arrows fired by the angelic archer.

    Jessica's weapon flares with light, and she swings twice, but one attack is deflected by a shield, and the other is a clean miss.

    Merry reappears at the start of her turn, and Shuraya lashes out with a spell that rends the fabric of her mind and rendering her incapable of casting a spell.

    You blast the mind of a creature that you can see within range, attempting to shatter its intellect and personality. The target takes 4d6 psychic damage and must make an Intelligence saving throw.

    On a failed save, the creature’s Intelligence and Charisma scores become 1. The creature can’t cast spells, activate magic items, understand language, or communicate in any intelligible way. The creature can, however, identify its friends, follow them, and even protect them.

    At the end of every 30 days, the creature can repeat its saving throw against this spell. If it succeeds on its saving throw, the spell ends. The spell can also be ended by Greater Restoration, Heal, or Wish.
