Video game where you programmed your ship's computer?

I'm trying to find the name of an indie game I think I read reviews of about a decade ago. Hopefully I'm not confusing, misremembering, or conflating details of separate games too much.

If I recall correctly, the game is set in the far future of an alternate past where the space race led to the launching of slower than light starships sometime in the 1980s. You play as the first person woken up near the end of the journey, but stuff has gone wrong, and you need to learn how to program the ship's computer to solve the problems.

Also iirc, the ship's computer is based on an 8 bit or 16 bit architecture, and the programming is low level enough that that matters to the player.
