Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
Pretty much ready to go, i just still have a bunch of gold I'm not sure how to spend. The issue with magic items for me is that I intend to spend a lot of time in wildshape, and I've got beastskin armor, which is nice, but outside of that I don't have the money to cover all of my stuff in wilding clasps (nor have I actually even confirmed that those are allowed lol), so a lot of useful magic items will spend a lot of time being NOT useful at all.
So I've been looking through all the obscure alchemical and mundane items. Any ideas?Last edited by Breitheamh; 2024-04-12 at 04:02 AM.
78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
Maybe could I possibly grab the Scout's Headband from the Magic Item Compendium?
Or is there an item that allows you to see through the item itself? Like a small object that can be placed somewhere and then later allows you to see through the item? (Like the Hexblood ability from 5th edition)Last edited by Breitheamh; 2024-04-12 at 09:23 AM.

Scout's headband is approved.
I do not know if such an item exists in 3.5 but it has potential for story, it may come into existence in the world.
I see the technical issues around equipping your character. I will keep that in mind, your loot should be useful all of the time.

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
I'm not sure. Maybe not.
Also, depending on what you determine what is meant by the variant bard's "you gain an extra divination spell per level that doesn't count against your spells known" I may want to be a sage bard, maybe, instead of a vanilla bard? The only drawback is needing cha/int (which i have already) and my bardic performance lingering not quite as long after I stop my oration.

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
With a favorable forecast and the first rays of morning breaking the horizon, all onboard the Harmonious Spirit gather on the main deck. To see off those being sent into the unknown. The captain sits stiff and upright in his wheelchair at the front of the delegation, his legs covered with a blanket. The mood somber and quiet.
“Tell me Father,” asks a man run through, The hilt of a fine sword protrudes from his back, the point puncturing his breastplate. “Do you really believe you can end twenty years of war with a single expedition?”
“The arrogance!” Declares a younger man, who walks the deck in his bloody night clothes, his body peppered with arrows. “Even if you could, you’ll never be able to undo what has already been done.”
The third man, younger still, confronts his father with a horrid scream. His blistered and burned form unable to articulate his anguish. Captain Fairhorn snaps back to reality with a shake of his head, dismissing his delusions.
The ship’s boat old and rough but intact and seaworthy, creaks and knocks as it is lowered into the water. Those climbing onboard pass by rows of stolid faces, furrowed brows and pressed lips. Words are spoken, the same words spoken to the condemned. A call for mercy from those above. A horn is blown, once upon release, and again at final sighting as those brave souls are swallowed by the horizon.

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
I'm trying to think what spell scrolls I should fill out my gear with. Any ideas for niche useful but extremely useful in that particular circumstance Druid spells? Water breathing comes to mind...

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
Cool. I picked up one of Water Breathing and a couple Lesser Restorations. Especially because it does appear we're a bit light on healing magic among the party.
Forgot to roll a Spot check for Surreth (in case there was more he could have seen beyond what you described). (1d20+18)[24]
And I'm wondering about how long it will take for Surreth to return to Skar. Based on the description of his flight distance, I'm guessing at least a few hours... Just want to know how long I should be roleplaying as if he is not there.

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
okay Naomi's movement to the narrow path will take place when the party was ready to proceed, which I am not sure they are yet.
next Naomi was following the tracks (Track Feat), I am presuming they went up the narrow path
Cliffs of broken stones, having tumbled down the mountainside flank the waterway. Creating a ridge wide enough to be walked upon overlooking the valley. A steady climb from the water’s edge to the eventual plateau requires fortitude.
Atop the ridge is a footpath traversing a considerable distance. 125 feet wide from the impassable mountain to the crumbling ledge. A straight vertical drop on to the rocks below.
IC post soon

Re: The Wreck of the Harmonious Spirit (OOC D&D 3.5)
Not really as of now. Utra got Djin and herself caught up in staring at some dead Orc. She hopes to do rubbings of some of the scars too and maybe search the area for scavenger poop.
If anyone gets fed up with her antics, just pick her up and carry her off. She's not that heavy and it'd be kinda amusing.

Not sure if he needs to roll for climb, balance and such. Otherwise, he will take 10 or 20 if possible.
