Default Issue with "special" characters (accented letters)?

When I try to post accented letters, they get all wonkey : Ã* é ö ù (edit: these were French accented letters, if it matters)
(A character set issue? ISO vs UTF-8 or something like that?)

I don't have this issue on any other site.

Looks like the forum software uses iso-8859-1 for its character set encoding. Are the corresponding characters listed on that page? If so, try copying and pasting from that page over to here and see if they still jumble up.

If the characters aren't listed on that page, then... It's probably something Rawhide and The Giant would have to weigh the pros and cons of making a sweeping change to the board settings.

"Oh, hey, look! Blue Eyes Black Lotus!" "Wait what, do you sacrifice a mana to the... Does it like, summon a... What would that card even do!?" "Oh, it's got a four-energy attack. Completely unviable in actual play, so don't worry about it."

    Test with copy-pasting accented letters: Ã* é
    (firefox)

Test with Chrome (from keyboard): à é

edit: looks like Chrome & Firefox work differently. Googling it, it seems Chrome has a character set autodetection; maybe Firefox doesn't or it works differently...
