    Default Dire polar bear companion

Hi everyone, I was sure I could take the dire polar bear (frostburn) as an alternative companion for a druid, but I have now noticed that actually that splatbook doesn't list it amongst the alternative compaions. Was this option published later in some other splatbook or dungeon/dragon magazine, or did I simply dream of it?

All of the level 16 companions are CR 8-9, while a dire polar bear is CR 11. You'd probably have to be level 19 to take it (there are a couple of books which list companions higher than 16th level, although I can't remember which right now).

It's PHB II that lists it as an option for 16th+ druids

Thank you, I found it in the PHBII, as you said.

Oh yes, I forgot PHBII decided that high-level Druids are underpowered and need some much stronger animal companions
