Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
I would like to ask if the Corrupted Wild Shape feat could be allowed for other shapechanging abilities, not just Druids.
Any Animal Forms based on Polymorph but not Druidic is having a real hard time without these allowances imo.
My (Glorious Servitor, Lost Empires of Faeruhn) Bestial Form, Bison, 3/day, 1 Hr per use isn't breaking the bank imo, and certainly isn't any better then my native fighting capabilities, it's mainly for fluff reasons.GNU Sir Terry Pratchett

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
there will be no hirelings period, it will be just a party of 4 undead that want revenge on the head of the church - just that simple
Corrupted Wild Shape feat
Prerequisite
Undead type, wild shape class feature
if you can meet the Prerequisite, you can use it

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
Okidoki, just asking
The only reason I brought up this feat, is to make things EASIER, not harder, lol.
It does not say in the Glorious Servitor PrC class that is is exactly like the Druid's Wild Shape, it does say it is like Polymorph, and nowhere does it say it doesn't work if the scrub is undead, unlike the Druid's Shapechanging which needs this feat mentioned to keep functioning properly.
So even as undead, I can use the Glorious Servitor's Bestial Form with no issues. RaW
So for 3/day, 1 hr per use, I can change into a living creature, but only in the one form.
I wasn't building this to get a trump card or anything, I was building a fluffy character, honestly.
Either way, Mummified Bison or Natural Bison, both fit in the fluff/ story..
Adding this feat would only make things smoothen out in regards to us being undead, I get that you want to emphasis undead, and for 90% that is feasible, but having a fluffy ability that allows a shape change, doesn't undemine that at all.
I fully understand you do things by RaW, and don't want to change much if anything at all to keep things on a straight and narrow. By RaW I don't need that feat, it was just accomodation, so NvM, I will look for another feat instead.Last edited by Burning Spear; 2024-04-18 at 01:49 PM.

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
I appreciate the information you have offered. However I already ruled / stated
Corrupted Wild Shape feat
Prerequisite
Undead type, wild shape class feature
if you can meet the Prerequisite, you can use it
Prerequisite: wild shape class feature - unless you have this class feature, you do not qualify.
No amount of alter self, polymorph, shapechange or the like can meet this, as far as I know.
There are very limited ways to meet this to the best of my knowledge.

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
Yes, that's my point. They're not compatible. Not to mention that Corrupted Wild Shape was published before some amount of Wild Shape errata (when it was still based on Polymorph), so the feat does literally nothing to modify Wild Shape. It already works like that if you're undead (apart from the whole "animals you turn into looks gnarly" part).

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
I glanced over the "restrictions", and missed that it specifies 3.5 only.
I really really really must ask for the following;
3.0 Sword and Fist contains some feats that were deemed correct for 3.5 and have thusly never been "updated".
Namely the Chariot Fighting feat derivatives;
Chariot Combat*
Chariot Archery
Chariot Trample
Chariot Sideswipe*
Chariot Charge*
Except it uses Handle Animal instead of Ride - "-" but functions exactly the same.
It also specifies they are used parralel to the Mounted Combat Feats in PHB.
And for the Character's Fluff and setting I really want to have these, marked with an *, and later possibly take the remaining ones.
Note; This is first and foremost for fluff reasons, she is from an archaic civilization, and thus doesnt yet use the stirrup.
Hence the chariot is their choice mode of transport. Even if we don't get to use it much in combat, I just like the fluff of how "driving" a chariot is way cool.

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
So far it's looking a bit sparse;
Also, could our Esteemed Dm elaborate on her world and the local area/ city/ church/ religion etc? or are part of these things stuff that we need to find out ingame? We weren't "living" in a vacuum methinks, so a little knowledge, however outdated might be of use...

Hey! Sorry I hadn't put this here yet. Crazy weekend with my final assignments for the semester. Work in progress here: Black Knight who just wants King Arthur to finish the job

Re: Dnd 3.5 - The Hunt for the Holy Grail.
I've just been extremely tired. My sheet is actually mostly done, I just need to pick out equipment... and spells. Not looking forward to either pursuit.
I did, however, decide on build. As I mentioned, I was trying to decide between Wizard and Dread Necromancer. But then... an angel of knowledge appeared to me, and she said, “¿por qué no los dos?” And she gave knowledge of the Ultimate Magus prestige class. I knew then that she was full of wisdom, and I knew what I had to do. A class boosting both a prepared arcane class and a spontaneous arcane class was perfect for my character. Of course Merideath would wish to master all forms of arcane necromancy, as well as pursue both the direct power of the Dread Necromancer and the knowledge of a Wizard.
And I also decided on Lich for her. Sure, I have fewer spell levels, only going up to 6th in Wizard and 5th in DN - but that just means fewer spells to put in my spellbook, and besides, when else am I going to be allowed to play a Lich, or want to for that matter?
As I say, I just need spells and equipment. I know she won't be doing much undead creation, so she'll mostly be doing whatever damage or save-or-suck she can inflict with necromancy - along with some Lord of the Uttercold shenanigans, replacing the energy types of damage spells with half cold and half negative energy. ...I will try and keep that in check, as that's kind of bonkers for an all-undead party, and I'll shift away from that if samduke wishes.

Never interpreted it as such, just stating my own reasons for absence and saying that I'm still interested.
