    Default Domain Devotion

Regarding the domain devotion feats in Complete Champion, the text states that you can give up uses of turn undead to receive additional uses of the feat. However, two separate places in that section seem to say contradictory things about how this works.

Under the description of each feat, there is a variation on this text:

At the beginning of the section, under "domain feats", there is this:

The first description makes it sound like these feats work similarly to divine feats, in that you can choose to channel turn undead uses into domain feat power on the fly. But the second description says that you have to permanently sacrifice a use of turn undead to gain an extra use of the feat.

So which is it? Do domain feats work like divine feats, or do you need to permanently give up turn undead uses to get extra domain feat uses?

I would say the second option, since the first paragraph is unclear and doesn't totally contradict that option (it says 'expend', but not whether long or short term) while the second paragraph clearly contradicts any interpretation other than a permanent trade-off.

I think that the individual descriptions in each ability present a second option, and one can therefore choose either choice. This is a strictly RAW position though, clearly that wasn't the intent.
