Reserve feat options
Reserve feats require a spell of a certain type to be memorized/available to use. I was just thinking that the summon monster spells become "typed" when cast. Is there any way to "fix" the kind of creature you're summoning ahead of time?
It just seems that you'd be less likely to cast a summoning spell that takes a full round, thereby removing any temptation to deprive you of the value of your feat. Also, it could be tailored to multiple reserve feats without needing to know a specific spell, or a few different spells if you have two (or more) reserve feats. Most handy for sorcerers, I would think. Why is it the best campaign ideas happen when you're sitting down to someone elses game?
Pun-Pun is an example of the worst case scenario. Never, ever, push your DM that far.
