how much should this cost?
hey I was wandering how much is it does it cost to hire mercenaries to help you in a campaign?
is there a formula out there?
and with that in mind how much should a level 6 player be paid as a mercenary for a king's army?SpoilerA Fighter/Paladin will just hack you to bits
A Wizard/Sorcerer will just blow you up with a spell
A Rogue/Ranger/Monk will just kill you in your sleep
A Cleric/Druid will just squash you after buffing himself
A Bard will slowly twist your ethics, corrupt your morals, and make you do vile acts just for the chance to face him. When you fight him, he will have your family and friends fighting for him. For he wields the deadliest weapon against you and that is, his word against yours.

Ooh, there is. Umm, depends on the level, skills, and feats. It's in Arms and Equipment Guide. I'd look it up, but I'm outa here.

There's a section about cohorts and mercenaries in DMG; can't remember the page number though.

... The miniature of her certainly makes her look older, but personally I like young Erandis both on the basis that the purge of the line started before she could grow into her full powers, and also because it lets her and Jaela have a vicious catfight sometime.

stronghold builder's guidebook says 6gp/month for a single soldier. excluding the cost of arms, food, etc. I'll go double-check that in a second

are we talkin above normal help? There's a table in either PHB or DMG that gives porters, mercs, animal caretakers etc.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

i am talking about hiring someone to join you in a dungeon crawl.
(medium to high chance for injury or death, so yes beyond normal help)
