Favorite Class?
Out of all the Classes in all of the books...
Which is your favorite?
Mine is either a Wild Mage, a straight-up Cleric, or my Crusader with Psionics.Oh, this is me, playing guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_hKAyI2h_I

Re: Favorite Class?
Warlock, or Dragonfire Adept.
All the fun of spells, with none of the "care" or "preparation" they have to go through. Feel like setting something on fire? Sure! Fly all day long? Why not!
Seriously, too much fun.
EDIT: Oooh, Binders too.Last edited by streakster; 2008-03-29 at 04:54 PM.
The perfect fighter fix.
Hey, the magnificent Shades of gray made me the cool paladin! Give him a hand!
From time to time, I vanish from the boards. Like Frosty, though, I'll be back again some day!

Re: Favorite Class?
i like cleric the best because it was the first class i used. (i wanted a character that could smite things with lightning and wasnt allowed to play as a wizard.)

Re: Favorite Class?
Bard and Sublime Chord. I love being able to have a bit of everything and to play the supportive role. Bard just does everything, not perfect or have all the necessary bits, but the fun factor outweighs that. The bard songs and bardic knowledge offer some great role play elements at the table and it is just all around fun. Sublime Chord just makes the bard better.
You just lost the game. I lost too but at least I took someone down with me.

Re: Favorite Class?
Sorcerer and Artificer. Artificer rocks because nothing rocks like building a Ship of Overland Flight armed with numerous Fireball cannons and Scorching Ray Guns, with a Hold of Holding and a Sail of Weather control. With, of course, the optional Long Poles of Solid Fog that shoot out and disguise the ship as a cloud. Just make sure you include a Parascope of Prying Eyes or something so you can see out to steer.

Re: Favorite Class?
I have to second Artificer. Without metamagic stacking, it's remarkably balanced - fragile, but, whoa, with a bit of imagination, spell storing item, and a few spare XP, you can do amazing things.
It's probably my most played class.

Re: Favorite Class?
Paladin.
There's not a single D&D game - from red-box D&D (where it was a fighter "specialization" at 9th or 10th level) to Gateway to the Savage Frontier to D&D 3.5 to NWN2 - where I haven't played a paladin. (Well, I guess Champions of Krynn and Death Knights of Krynn didn't have paladins; I rather think Solamnic Knights make up for it. Dark Queen of Krynn did have paladins, though.) Champions of Valor is one of my favorite 3.5 books, with the ton of paladin substitution levels for specific deities and knightly orders.

Re: Favorite Class?
Swordsage.
I love it because it allows the actualization of so many different cinematically impressive and mechanically effective characters.Good grammar is hot.

Re: Favorite Class?
Mystic Swordsage: It's like a warlock/dragonfire adept, only a lot more flexable. The ability to make a Warforged that "mechanically" acts like a Transformer? Priceless.

Re: Favorite Class?
Very torn between Warlock and Warblade. If PrC's are included there's simply too many to name that have first billing as far as favorites go, including countless homebrew classes. And just because I'm an egomaniac, a lot of those favorite PrC's are one's my creation.

Re: Favorite Class?
straight up cleric is fun to play, but when it comes to roleplaying I like all the classes the same.
If we allow earlier editions, I like the Bard kit "Blade" from 2e the most.

Re: Favorite Class?
Am I the only one who prefers thieves/rogues? I find that, more than any other class, rogues reward cleverness. And unlike spellcasters, they don't have to worry about running out of the nifty things they can do (and unlike fighters, they have nifty things they can do).
Time travels in divers paces with divers persons.

Re: Favorite Class?
If you'd asked this a week ago, I'd have said Warlock.
However, since then I've decided to multi-class my Warlock to an Eldritch Theurge (yes, I know It's A Trap, that's not really the issue in this campaign). So for my fave, I'd have to say "Wizard" again. Or Beguiler, for that matter.Guide to the Magus, the Pathfinder Gish class.

Fighter. Just love 'em, no matter how dysfunctional they are.

Re: Favorite Class?
Beguilers are great. My favourite character at the moment is one, but that's probably because he's a great character, not because of the beguilerness, though it helps.

Re: Favorite Class?
Oh, I'd have to list quite a few base classes. Wizard, Swordsage, Factotum, Duskblade, Beguiler, and a few others.
I would have to list a bunch more prestige classes, but I've always liked:
- The Fochluclan Lyrist (such an odd mix of classes, yet such good flavor)
- The Chameleon (Yay for versatility!)
- Drunken Master (an obvious choice)
- Necrocarnate (cool fluff!)
- Daggerspell Mage
- Shadow Sun Ninja (They're NINJAS!)
- Bloodstorm Blade (they just provide too funny of a mental image to not like them)
