    Default Master Specialist PrC?

Does the Master Specialist have to give up a third school of magic? I can't find anywhere in the class that states you do, but the example character they give has given up three schools, and she has only base wizard levels in addition to her MS levels.

No, you don't have to give up any more schools. I can't see any reason why the sample character has three banned schools, but I don't have any faith whatsoever in those characters. They constantly use bad builds and break the rules left right and center.

The sample character is a focused specialist, if I recall correctly.

Maybe I'm playing a wrong game.

Yeah, under special qualities the sample character has focused specialist so she's got one extra banned school but more spells per day.

It's amazing how they manage to make sample characters that don't even fill the entry requirements.

It's also amazing how much core material gets reiterated in the example characters. Does each rogue based PrC that has an example character really need a paragraph on how sneak attack works? Really?

Maybe 4th ed's version of the complete books will have some new content and won't rely on cheap tricks like giant fonts, spacious typesetting, and copy and pasted content, to crank out a new $30 book once a month. No I'm not bitter.
