    Default Tear up my wizard

In my Saturdays game, I'm playing a Grey Elf Wizard 3 / Master Specialist 2 (was 3, but I was temporarily dead. I got better). INT is 20, and Dex is 18, and he's an Abjurer (barred: Evocation, Necromancy).

My initial plan was to take him Wiz 3 / Master Specialist 3 / Duskblade 1 / Spellsword 1 / Abjurant Champion 2 / Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil 7 / Archmage 3, but since dying I've found I'm more about the party than simple blasting.

I'm thinking about going Wiz3 / MS3 / War Weaver 4 / Iot7FV 7 / Archmage 3 now (I still need the third level of Master Specialist for the Greater Spell Focus, and any way I need 6th level to take enlarge spell or combat casting (though my DM has replaced it with Skill Focus: Concentration) for whichever PrC I head into after that.

As to why Duskblade, well, I needed an extra BAB for Abjurant Champion - spellsword gets it for me and includes a caster level, but I need prof with all armors and all martial weapons to use it. Duskblade at least gets me some extra utility spells per day (like detect magic) over fighter's bonus feat.

So which path do you recommend, forumites? What am I doing wrong as far as making a defense-based, orb-wielding not-really-Batman?

(And if I go the War Weaver path, can I weave wards from Iot7FV into my weave, providing the spell equiv is the right level?)

If you're interested in Duskblade, may I recommend doing Ultimate Magus?

It's a thought, but I'd only be taking it for three levels anyway, and I don't know how much that would help my overall. Duskblade spells are neat, but the real benefit of Duskblade would involve taking it to level 3 and using it with my Wizard spells.

Like I said, only taking DB because I need the BAB and it fit better than Fighter, Warblade, Barbar or Ranger.

But thanks - I think if I did do ultimate magus it would be for a duskblade-based gish... and would require Wisdom of at least 14, Arcane Disciple (Competition Domain) and not banning Evocation :)

I like Flaws with Beguiler and an Ultimate Magus Flaws dip for a little more spell utility and fueling some meta magic early.

Specialist -1 with Precocious Apprentice, Beguiler -1 with Practiced Caster feat, Master Specialist -3, Ultimate Magus - 3 to 5 to personal taste then Master Specialist -4 and X.

Specialist -1 with Precocious Apprentice, Binder -1 and forgoing Master Specialist for dipping some Anima Mage levels could be interesting in a leveling up game.

Something like Spec -1, Binder -1, Am -2, Beguiler -1, UM 3 to 5, remaining levels to taste with a general utility meta spell caster who could Quicken a few Beguiler Spells and follow them up with another spell from L9+. Soul Binding a level 1, 2 or 3 Vestige brings in a lot of options to the PC.
