    '89 as well. Hmm.

As for parents...my mom is awful, but my dad's pretty good at the arcade games that were around when he was a kid. He's far better than I am at Galaga, for example.

'89. Not good at games. My father plays more than me most of the time. And he's very busy, which means he plays about two hours per week.

Whoa.... you're the same age as me, CSK? I honestly thought you were older....

My parents don't play videogames at all. When I was younger my dad played Super Mario World with me, but that was it.

I'm from the grandest of all years, the magnificent nineteen ninety.

Also, there just was a wasp queen in my room, now it's dead.

I've never played a computer or console game. Except AoE II; I've played about a couple hundred hours on it since I was first introduced to it when I was nine/ten.

Yesterday at college I saw a real-life catgirl.
It was . . . rather intimidating. She had a black ribbon tail and black fluffy ears. And was in a red dress with cat-giirl typical tutu skirt dress thing. It was all red. As was her hair. Oh, but black tights.
An analogy: once I saw an advert or picture for this show called Tokyo Mew Mew.

I'm much older than all of you (except for Midnight Son) - but a lady should never tell anyone her age anyway. (Or something like that...)

Why is it that just walking to the metro station and back again this morning in a new pair of shoes has managed to give me massive throbbing blisters that'll last for weeks?

Well, it's something like that, isn't it?

You probably also shouldn't believe a lady when she tells you her age. (You should, of course, act shocked and declare that she looks a minimum of ten years younger.)

Sure it's a queen? It could have just been one of the large varieties of wasp or wasp-like insect. However, it'd make sense, since no other type of wasp should be alive yet, in my latitudes anyways. In the great land of 'Somewhere" from whence you hail it could be prime wasp season.

I never really got that. Why shouldn't women be able to talk about their age more freely? Is being older that bad for people? I really don't get the fuss about wrinkles etc anyway. I like how they look, especially those coming from laughing.

We don't get non-queen wasps of that size, she was one and a half inch long, at the least. An inch long wasp is large by our standards.

@CSK: It isn't wasp season here yet, will most likely come soon though.

    I got better!

You may have a point about those who LARP exclusively Vampire. Vampire/tabletop players? Maladjusted in the usual nerdy ways.
Vampire/boffers? Could be trusted with (padded) weaponry.

[EDIT: I'm now twice the age I was when I chose an appointment at Glamour Shots for my birthday present. For those unfamiliar with the idea, it was a chain of mall-based shops where makeup artists would tart you up, tease your hair, wrap you in sequined scraps, and then sell you sets of photographs of yourself looking glamorous.

EDIT AGAIN: In the spring a young maid's fancy turns to thoughts of exhibitionism--and I do have a spring birthday. Needles me still to think I would have been less of a fool that year, born in a different season.]

Bah, just an inch? That's, like, a stunted wasp for Russia. We get them there easily 3 inches at times, but those ones aren't wasps per se.

I'm allergic (mildly) to wasps, but as the sting gets worse every time, I'm not too keen on getting near the things. That said, I'm waaaay less skittish of them than most of the girls I know, even though none of THEM are allergic. They're all, "AAAA! A BEE! RUN AWAY!" and I'm like "uhh...it's just a bee. It's not gonna hurt you unless you scare it."

I'm not using "wasp" and "bee" interchangably. I was just recalling a specific incident where it was a bee.

That's not a hard and fast rule. Though actually she might be amused if I told her she looked 9 years old. Particularly if she was tipsy at the time.
