Re: weird ways of inspiring courage
Perform (striptease)
Works well for fascinate and suggestion too, and maybe gives a circumstance check against individuals who find the bard desirable? (Note: If you use this method in a dragon centric campaign as a male bard, be prepared to be single handedly responsible for a sudden half dragon population explosion)As i walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i shall know no fear, for i have three lives remaining and god mode enabled.

Re: weird ways of inspiring courage
My favorites have always been Perform (comedy) and Perform (whistling), the first of which is actually a 3.5 Perform type, in the SRD and all.
The only problem I see with Perform (comedy) is that, surely, any good slapstick requires a partner. I guess you'll have to get Leadership and another bard as a cohort.
The Fascinate ability, at least, makes perfect sense with Perform (comedy).

Re: weird ways of inspiring courage
A few months ago, I realized that a bard isn't actually incapacitated by [Otto's] Irresistible Dance, since he can just keep on inspiring the party while he's under the spell.

Re: weird ways of inspiring courage
Perform (obscene gestures):
This one actually has a noble history. Alexander the Great once inspired his men before launching an assault on a walled city by making obscene gestures with a pickle (I never found out what they were, though).
And the infamous middle finger gesture began as a sort of rallying cry for English archers in the Hundred Years' War. French knights had threatened the longbowmen that if they were captured, the French would cut off their middle fingers, making them unable to draw a bow. Flipping the bird at the French army was the English way of saying they were ready and able for battle.

You take organs from previously defeated enemies, and use them to do a puppet show.Spoiler
