Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
Let's hope there's a levle 17 Cleric somewhere for Celia's sake (I'm guessing that disabling the Roy Golem would be next to impossible at this point).

Is it just me or is insane Belkar the funniest character that has ever been in this comic!
Damn right they have Skittles®! Is it just me or does anyone else think that Belkar found a way of pronouncing ®?GNU Terry Pratchett

Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
Celia must have some kind of "Triple damage against inanimate objects" Feat with her lightning blasts or something.
I wonder how long before anyone clues in on what's wrong with Belkar (more wrong than usual that is).Last edited by Nerd_Paladin; 2008-07-26 at 04:13 AM.

Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
My thoughts exactly. Did they just slide in a big puddle of... Well, nevermind. It worked and they all ot out alive (well, those who were in the first place anyway). I surprisingly surprised the golems themselves didn't slip, though. It must have been one heck of a Balance chack to walk through that puddle without falling prone.

Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
And again the distance between Roy's body and Belkar grows..
It might have been yours, perhaps, but never mine. And in the end, as the darkness takes me, I am nothing.

Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
I don't think that's necessary. A strong wooden door has a hardness of 5 and 20 hit points. Since electricity deals half damage to objects, Celia needed to deal at least 50 points of damage, half of which is 25, which breaks the door even after hardness. Now we don't know what Celia's abilities are exactly (though we know she can at least cast 3rd-level sorcerer spells), but that kind of damage is well-within the range of what a 9th or 10th level sorcerer with the Empower Spell feat could do. And a basic sylph straight from the Monster Manual II casts as a 7th level sorcerer, so that's not too far off. For a simple wooden door, the required damage drops to 30. With a little luck, a 7th level caster could do it without any feat.
But maybe I'm rationalizing things too much. Clearly, the important part is that it's possible at all. This post looks like it's taken straight out of the Class and Level Geekery thread.

Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
Distance beteen Roy and Belkar: does it matter? Can an active Mark be triggered again and double its effects on him? if not, there will be no real effect.
However, if they notice they are more than a mile from where they left roy, they might put two and two together and conclude Belkar's Mark has already been triggered.

Is it just me, or does anyone else hope that in that bag of gold that Haley stole from Grubbles is enough money to get Roy's pincode?

Re: OOTS #578 - The Discussion Thread
This no good.
I mean, the main scene of the strip is just too weird.
They are sliding on a bag. On a some kind of Belkar's super ill vomit.
This should take like a second to before they hit the door, and then just open them, and get the hell away.
Insted, their slide is somewhat slow motion, so Haley can talk to Celia for at least ten seconds. And door must be turned in to pieces. By a lightning while even, D&D rules noticed that's it's pretty hard to break things up with electrical energy.
That's a bit of criticsm from my side.
At least, brain damaged Belkar is hilarious.Last edited by Spiryt; 2008-07-26 at 05:34 AM.

Wow, Belkar's a unicorn!
Nice comic, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how they attempt to get Roy back with Belkar going through a menagerie of mythical beasts in his addled mind.

But they don't know the MoJ is activated. Whatever happens next will be hilarious, no doubt about it.
